I don’t understand this question.  You are free to be upset that Dominion is being trashed.

Im not saying it’s up to Dominion to prove anything, but if I were them, I’d want to prove my company has done nothing wrong.

How can you prove a negative...the actual people who look into election security have said the company was fine...the election is secure.  Thus far...it has been proven their company did no wrong.

But those who are on "right wing twitter" or whatever...that think that News Conference was great...won't ever be convinced.  It is why I have said we may be past the point of healing for a while...just too divided based on fact vs fiction.  Until people start being able to agree on what is factual...we will remain this divided.

And the whole part of my question...is that its laughable for those on the right who have complained so much about cancel culture to now be doing just that with dominion (not like they have not before..they have always been just as guilty of the cancel culture vibe as anyone else).

Ask and I shall receive, statement from Dominion Voting Systems themeselves:

Quote

Updated: November 17, 2020
SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT: FACTS & RUMORS

DOMINION VOTING SYSTEMS CATEGORICALLY DENIES FALSE ASSERTIONS ABOUT VOTE SWITCHING AND SOFTWARE ISSUES WITH OUR VOTING SYSTEMS.

According to a Joint Statement by the federal government agency that oversees U.S. election security, the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA): "There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised."  The government & private sector councils that support this mission called the 2020 election "the most secure in American history."

1) VOTE DELETION/SWITCHING ASSERTIONS ARE COMPLETELY FALSE.

An unsubstantiated claim about the deletion of 2.7 million pro-Trump votes that was posted on the Internet and spread on social media has been taken down and debunked by independent fact-checkers.

Edison Research (ER) has refuted any claims that company data suggests any voting irregularities, including vote switching.  Edison Research President Larry Rosin told The Dispatch Fact Check, "Edison Research created no such report and we are not aware of any voter fraud."

Claims that 941,000 votes for President Trump in Pennsylvania were deleted are impossible.  The fourteen counties using Dominion systems collectively produced 1.3 million votes, representing a voter turnout of 76%.  Fifty-two percent of those votes went to President Trump, amounting to 676,000 votes processed for the President in Pennsylvania using company systems.

Dominion does not have the ability review votes in real time as they are submitted.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's cybersecurity division has confirmed that it is not possible for a bad actor to change election results without detection.

2) ASSERTIONS OF "SUPERCOMPUTER" ELECTION FRAUD CONSPIRACIES ARE 100% FALSE.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has debunked claims about the existence of a secret CIA program for vote fraud called Hammer and Scorecard.

All U.S. voting systems must provide assurance that they work accurately and reliably as intended under federal U.S. EAC and date certifications and testing requirements.  Election safeguards - from testing and certification of voting systems, to canvassing and auditing - prevent malicious actors from tampering with vote counts and ensure final vote tallies are accurate.  Read more from CISA.

There have been no "raids" of Dominion servers by the U.S. military or otherwise, and Dominion does not have servers in Germany.  CISA has refuted this claim on Twitter, and the U.S. Army has also confirmed to the Associated Press that it's false.

3) THERE WERE NO DOMINION SOFTWARE GLITCHES AND BALLOTS WERE ACCURATELY TABULATED.  THE RESULTS ARE 100% AUDITABLE.

No credible reports or evidence of any software issues exist.  Dominion equipment is used by county and state officials to tabulate ballots.  Human errors related to reporting tabulated results have arisen in a few counties, including some using Dominion equipment, but appropriate procedural actions have been taken by the county to address these errors were made prior to the canvass process.

The Michigan Secretary of State's office offers a Fact Check Page which debunks false or erroneous claims about voting in Detroit, as well as a user-error incident in Antrim County.

The Georgia Secretary of State has also repeatedly stated throughout the count that "[a]s the work goes on, I want to assure Georgia voters that every legal vote was cast and accurately counted."

Dominion's systems are not responsible for 2,631 uncounted ballots discovered in Floyd County, Georgia during the statewide recount.  The Secretary of State's office has cited clerical error and lack of following proper procedures as the cause.

4) DOMINION IS A NONPARTISAN U.S. COMPANY.

Dominion has no company ownership relationships with the Pelosi family, Feinstein family, Clinton Global Initiative, Smartmatic, Scytl, or any ties to Venezuela.  Dominion works with all U.S. political parties; our customer base and our government outreach practices reflect this nonpartisan approach.

As reported by the Associated Press, "Dominion made a one-time philanthropic commitment at a Clinton Global Initiative meeting in 2014, but the Clinton Foundation has no stake or involvement in Dominion's operations, the nonprofit confirmed."  The meeting included bipartisan attendees focused on international democracy-building.

5) DOMINION IS NOT, AND HAS NEVER BEEN, OWNED BY SMARTMATIC.

Dominion is an entirely separate company and a fierce competitor to Smartmatic.

Dominion and Smartmatic do not collaborate in any way and have no affiliate relationships or financial ties.

Dominion does not use Smartmatic software.

The only associations the companies have ever had were:
- In 2009, Smartmatic licensed Dominion machines for use in the Philippines.  The contract ended in a lawsuit.
- In 2010, Dominion purchased certain assets from Sequoia, a private U.S. Company.  Smartmatic, a previous owner of Sequoia, pursued legal actions against Dominion.

6) NO UNAUTHORIZED OR LAST-MINUTE SOFTWARE UPDATES OCCURRED.

Claims about software updates being done the night before Election Day are 100% false.

Both Spalding County and the Georgia Secretary of State have verified that a) this type of unauthorized update is impossible, and b) the actual logs from equipment under the custody of the County determined an update did NOT happen the night before the election.

Georgia Voting System Implementation Manager Gabe Sterling has affirmed in his daily press briefing on November 9 that "nothing was done to the [PollPad] system after [October 31]," when voter files were updated as part of normal procedure.

7) THERE ARE NO ISSUES WITH THE USE OF SHARPIE PENS.

Election officials provide writing instruments that are approved for marking ballots to all in-person voters using hand-marked paper ballots.  Dominion Voting Systems machines can read all of these instruments, including Sharpies.

The DHS Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, "if a ballot has issues that impacts its ability to be scanned, it can be hand counted." The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors assured voters that "sharpies do not invalidate ballots." Dominion has stated that "Sharpie pens are safe and reliable to use on ballots, and recommended due to their quick-drying ink."

I wonder who to believe...

Yeah the guys laughing this off are missing the point.  Spend ten minutes in right wing twitter and you’ll realize how big that press conference may have been.  It’s crazy

Is it bigger or smaller than tucker carlsons lost thumb drive on right wing twitter? I thought a couple of weeks ago that was the biggest story on right wing twitter and haven't heard much of a follow up?

For that matter did right wing twitter ever get all the evidence they were building on pizzagate? If you think THIS is crazy you should follow up on that one!

Have fun farming in downtown Boulder. I'll be dead before I need food.

Luckily Arizona went Blue.  California is the biggest agriculture state in the US by double any other state.  Looks like farmed goods have a route to Colorado through Arizona.  Could be touch and go at the corner where the four states meet.  May have to toss them the produce.

So Trump tweeted that they withdrew their lawsuits in Michigan because they won when they derailed the certification process in Wayne County. Last I heard / read saw was the state  SOS said the certification was completed as normal and there was nothing they could do about it. Trump plans to meet with GOP party members to try to get the state certification tossed and send it to the state legislature. However, if what I have been reading is right, the legislature is bound to go with the candidate that garnered the most votes. I know, I know . . . just because Trump said something doesn't make it true, but which part am I missing that they are counting Michigan as a win?

I don't think the Michigan legislature can get involved at this point. All 83 counties have certified their votes, and the Board Of Canvassers is set to certify the certifications (ha ha) on Monday.

I don't know what happens if the Board Of Canvassers refuses to approve the certifications. Maybe that's when the Legislature would play a role?

You're a smart person.  You have to realize by now there's nothing to any of this, right?  They are literally just making stuff up, one after another.  No precinct in Wisconsin had 300% voter turnout as Rudy claimed today.  He knows it didn't happen.  No one trucked hundreds of thousands of Biden-only ballots (i.e. no down ballot votes) in garbage bags into Detroit in the middle of the night.  He knows it didn't happen.

I don't consider myself the jury.  I find all of their claims interesting in the scope of their claims.  I feel like if someone is making claims THIS BOLD, they shouldn't be laughed off, but should be investigated thoroughly.  Why?  Because Trump is the president, and that's a respectable office.  If his claims turn out to be totally crap, and if it turns out they are literally just making stuff up, that pretty much seals it.  But my personal opinion of whether there is anything to this is kind of irrelevant.

Ill sign up for this on one condition.  What is the accountability if the allegations are shown to be baseless and/or frivolous?

The impact of this fiasco is unmeasurable.  This fiasco is setting our country back decades with respect to confidence in our system.

Just got to say I'm glad to live in blue, blue, blue Boulder county Colorado.  Very few Trump supporters around here.

And if Trump is able to, slim chance to be fair about it,  deep six certification driving this to SCOTUS and Congress, and the rioting happens in nearly every major city in America, will you feel the same if Colorado ends up like Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Philly, and on and on and on? Or are you more comfortable that rioters won't last long in the snow and thin air?

The very worst of the rioting and looting is happening in blue cities. What if your Mayor becomes the next Wheeler or Lightfoot?

Did the two people sign certification under duress?

That's a legit legal question and with so many lawyers on these forums, it's a fair question and one that can be deeply discussed here ( how free of political tribalism, I don't know)

There's video of them being doxxed.

That might actually work in Trump's favor legally as the legal question there might drive the case upwards compared to other instances where it might not. The SCOTUS would prefer to stay out of elections, and that's not just Scalia's classic position. They may not be able to here.

Ok so you so take that back and then it goes to the SOS who will certify it. What’s the end game here?

I thought at its height...it was the best Star Trek show. Much better character interaction and the Dominion War (at least the first few seasons of it), was good.  I also thought they had the best weird "one off" episodes like Trouble with Tribbles, the one where Quark, Rom and Odo are the Area 51 Aliens, the James Bond style holodeck one and the Mirror Universe episode. Even the baseball game against the Vulcans was entertaining.  Good secondary characters too; Rom, Grand Nagus, Dukat, Garrick, Nurse Ratched, Wayoon...... all brightened up the episodes they were in.

Would be interesting to see a new poll.  I have a hard time understanding what makes people believe it at this point. Its not just a difference of opinion or political belief either. Its just downright ignoring facts for claims that lack evidence or factual basis.

I just told my wife we should start watching it again since neither of us finished the series.  We both stopped after season 3 or so.  I've heard really good things about it though.

Do i need that dumb CBS service to watch though?

Yeah. I figure the states are going to certify the results, and the outcomes will be what they already are in terms of who won the states.

What then? They ignore the certified votes, and....? They're going to just go full brinksmanship, ignore due process and law?

Hell let Trump recount it himself. Only way to know for sure........

Maybe? Or GOP can just flat out ignore Biden and refuse to acknowledge him and still acknowledge Trump. Trump can be the anti-President like when we had 2 Popes because the sides couldn't agree who the actual Pope was.

And at that point it becomes blatant treason...it wouldn’t even be arguable.  Refusing to recognize a legitimately elected POTUS and supporting the loser over him would be turning their backs completely on this country.
