I'mma guess it's because Conner seems to get nicked up bending over to tie his shoes (nagging type stuff). 

Guessing they feel better letting Snell take the unnecessary pounding now so they can hopefully have a more healthy Conner for the playoffs.  It's frustrating, since Benny Snell has never really given me "pants feelings" on any of his carries his 1st two years, but they're 10-0 so I can't complain too much.
