The President told MAGA to do it MAGA said they were going to do it MAGA filmed themselves doing it Afterwards, MAGA bragged about it Clearly, it was ANTIFA’s fault

So they're finally following the CDC guidelines for the pandemic?

One is an ugly, decrepit wasteland ruled by an assortment of villains hoping to impose their will on peace-loving people everywhere who otherwise just want to be left alone to tend to their gardens.

I mean if you guys needed proof that Jon is trolling you he decided to provide it right here.  Believe him.

Who is trolling?  The left sickens me with their dishonesty.  We had well over 500 violent protests from BLM events with over 30 people killed, $1-2 billion in property damage and over 14,000 people arrested and all we want to do is worry about discussing the threat of some boogeyman white nationalists bs which wasn't even the main thrust of either Charlottesville of January 6th protests.  There is so much gross distortion and double-standards in how events are portrayed.  All the left does is focus on the worst 0.1 percent of the right and ignores the other 99.9 percent while completely glossing over the terrible elements of the left and focus on the 93% of peaceful protestor.   I am done trying to figure out why and just chalking it up to ridiculous partisan lies.

Everyone know Hollywood leans left - thus more bad actors on the left, than the right.

I saw some interviews with Republicans who attended former President Trump’s speech yesterday and it appears they have bought in fully to the revisionism that @jon_mx and so many others are spreading: January 6 was a peaceful protest, there was no violence at all. The ones who got into the Capitol were welcomed inside, the police were on their side.

New polling suggests that at least half of all Republicans believe this.

The Vice President of the United States was under attack while presiding over the certification of the election in the Capitol, and the loser of that election, who called the attackers to the city that day, ginned them into a rage with a steady stream of lies, and pointed them at the Capitol building, refused to give the order to remove the attackers.

Because the President was Insurrectionist #1.

This is why we will never have peace. Too many people are too emotional to think rationally. Everything has died down. The impeachment farce is gone and yet 3 months later an article comes out and you want to kill the former president. This is why we have the problems we do today.

Why was it a farce?

Because it was a partisan witch hunt with the sole goal to eliminate Trump as a potential rival in the future. It failed because it lacked any substance (along with the necessary votes).

It was the most bi-partisan vote to convict in US history.

And it convicted no one. All it did was fan the flames further. Now we get an article basically just recapping the day and we have seemingly level headed people calling for the death of a former president.

This is what the media and the elites do to seemingly normal people. They make boogeymen. They divide. They conquer. And people are all too happy to let them.

Do you think if that same report the article is based on came out prior to impeachment...that it should have changed the decision?

Does it make it less of a "farce"?

Im asking...because it seems there was a lack of action that day out of the oval office.

Is there no accountability for Trump's actions and inaction on Jan 6?

The media made the boogeyman?  So there wasn't violence in the Capitol?  Those calls from Pence didn't happen?  I mean...its hard to read that article and the report its based on and come up with such an opinion to me...I really can't understand that mentality at all.

It didn't just recap the day...it added new details from the Pentagon.

And that poster who called for the death (I don't agree with the death part...but seems he is saying as much because he believes it was treasonous by Trump...also, that poster is hardly some left wing poster either).

Do any public officials have consequences for action or inaction? Yes its called elections. If no crime is committed, they presumably can be voted out if enough people disagree with what they did.

The former president praise the people who stormed the Capitol with the single purpose of disrupting our democracy; the peaceful transfer of power. People died as a result. There was a truckload of Molotov cocktails. People wanted to hang the VP. And the former president praised them while repeating the lies that instigated one of the worst attacks on our government in history. And it resulted in the most bi-partisan vote to convict.

Hardly a "partisan witch hunt". The fact that there were people in his party that refused to hold him accountable is an indictment on where we are in our politics.

The bar is much higher than that. The bar is was the crime bad enough for their party to turn on them. This is true for Trump, WJClinton and Nixon.

Yes that's what I mean by the media fanning flames. This article provides nothing we didn't already know and yet a seemingly reasonable person is led to the belief that the former president must die. If he can think that, what do you think it does to everyone else.

In fact Trump's defense (via Dershowitz) is it's not a crime if the president commits it. Nixon's own argument against his own impeachment.

The only person that died that day was a rioter who was shot entering the Capitol. The rest died afterwards. No one died at the hands of the rioters. Yet we are led to believe so. We are being led down a dark path into thinking that half the country is basically a terrorist organization waiting to kill the other half. Then if people disagree with that idea being pushed forward, you're labeled an enemy and treated as such.

No doubt.   This happens on both ends of the spectrum.    People are too quick to equate the extreme positions of each side to the  group as a whole.

And a police officer died the next day as a result of injuries suffered during the attack. So yes, someone died at the hands of a rioter. Let's not white wash this as some peaceful protest. It wasn't. And it was a direct result of a losing president lying about why he lost.

400 arrests out of about 40,000 protesters, so that is 1 percent.  Then most have just been charge with entering and parading with some obstruction of proceedings sprinkled in on a few.  Only a fraction have any violence associated with their charges, so definitely something way south of 1 percent.  It is tough to compare the two, because virtually every person who entered the Capitol is being hunted down and charged, while the vast majority of violent BLM looters and rioters are not.

They just sentenced a rioter in Seattle to prison. Just saw a video asking to help identify a couple of people who commented violence in the Fall in the news the other day.

I believe if they have video of people, in my area at least, they are putting these people in jail.

Because nothing was ever done to assure the populace that it wasn't. They told people to shut up and kept yelling as loud as they could "most secure election in history" without actually proving that with their fingers in their ears.

Stop rationalizing the violence of January 6.

We don't know.  What we do know is that the only one ruled a homicide was an unarmed women shot by police.  The one that was allegedly crushed by the mob.....well that has been ruled a drug overdose.  Another was a stroke and the other was a heart attack.  There is a lot of mystery surrounding Brian Sicknick most puzzling is why no cause of death is being released.  Yes, there is reason to think it could have been natural or even suicide like a couple other officers.

BTW, I have not rationalized violence.

The allegations of fraud brought to court were thrown out on standing and subsequently ignored afterwards. They were never investigated. When independent investigators uncovered issues with voter addresses, they are immediately discredited and silenced by twitter and YouTube. Any one independently trying to look into the issues people brought up, they are turned away and silenced. Recounting what many considered incorrect already is not going to assuage those concerns.

No. He did not. It was initially reported that he was bludgeoned to death by a fire extinguisher. Yet that never happened. The family said he told them he was fine but then suffered what appeared to be a stroke the next day. Yet they still have not received an official cause of death.

Nice strawman.  I never said no violence. I said the violence was instigated by a small number of people of whom it seems to have been a group of  about 40 people being a combination of Oath Keepers and Prooud Boys.

Not sure why @Amused to Death laughed at your comment.  It is ABSOLUTELY true that he died of other causes.

Even his precious Snopes and WaPo have reported it:

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/brian-sicknick-fire-extinguisher/

And I didn't even search that hard.  Just shows you that people like that just want to stick to the false narrative because - SIDES!
