2021 Las Vegas Raiders - PLAYOFFS!!!! (5 Viewers)

Mayock confirmed Moehrig FS, Abram SS (box safety), and Deablo WILL.

Doctors high level of confidence no issues with back on Moehrig

Like Deablo ability to cover TE's.

Koonce is a "bendy" guy.

Moved ahead of Dallas to get Moehrig.

Koonce was "unanimous". Marinelli loved him. Bradley loved him.

I'm cool all around!!
Me too. Solid day two. Surprised Moehrig lasted that long but smart to trade up and grab him. I have to learn more about both guys they grabbed in the 3rd, and how they will fit in to Bradley’s system, but initial reports give me some hope these guys can play.

Walter Football like them both decently, way more than Scouts Inc do.  I tend to trust Scouts Inc, they have better historical accuracy based on my experience but it's all still one big semi-educated guess.

Taking a designated pass rusher, and a S to LB hybrid nickel LB type guy is exactly the kind of spots I'm glad they went after.

Whether they are good remains to be seen, I didn't watch much Buffalo University football this year. 🤣

But if Divine is the type we can put on a TE, that's good, because TE's just eat vs the Raiders.  Coverage specialist is a need, fo sho.

If we can create a pass rush with a rotational wave, like the Eagles used to do, I could see that. Maxx, Ferrell, Ngakoue, Koonce, and just throw fresh legs at an offense, it might be an improvement.

Either way, I'm happy they threw a lot at the problem.

We didn't do so bad with the last Buffalo pick we made

If we are looking at positions that could make the team, I would like to see:

Interior OL.  There's some dudes there still.  Let's get some cheap depth at OG. Maybe a future starter.  Screw it, let's take 2.

Tight End. To me, there is room for a young guy at TE3. I dunno a name, but I'd like to see a new face.

Wide Receiver. We have roster spots. I'll give Willie Snead's job to Jaelon Darden right now.  I'll give Zay Jones' job to Seth Williams yesterday.

Another safety. Safety and OG probably have the best prospects on day 3, and there are guys that could make a nice 4th safety, or even better, a PS stash, as Heath and Joseph play out the year, and then bounce.

Running back.  A late round RB could beat out Jalen Richard.

Immediate need is not realistic, I'm just trying to find spots we can upgrade backups.

They still need inside LB depth. OL. Could definitely use some more love. No more safety tweener guys. They have enough.

There are 5 TE’s, 47 DL. Probably good there. They dumped the 4th qb sometime in last month, so Gruden will draft some kid, no one’s heard of.

How many picks today?  3?

two 5th, a 6th, and a 7th.

I could see them getting antsy, and trading picks next year.  I hope they don't.

Tommy Togiai is a favorite DT of mine, I'd like to see him go to LV.

A DT feels like an unlikely pick, but he could beat out Philon.

Here are some rated players left  LB, then OL

Cameron McGrone, Michigan

Jabril Cox, LSU

Charles Snowden, Virginia

Tony Fields, West Virginia

Garrett Wallow,TCU

Paddy Fisher, Northwestern

James Hudson, CincinnatI

Trey Smith, Tennessee

Deonte Brown, Alabama

Drake Jackson, Kentucky

I’d prefer Smith and Cox.  Cmon mayock!  This is where Gruden might let you pick someone!!  😜

I wouldn’t mind a DT pick, there are just so many on the roster atm.  But some hungry young kid, might be great. Lotta cuts coming on the DL

There's only 4 names that really matter, Irivng, Hankins, Jefferson, Thomas.  It's probably enough, but there's a lil opening for someone.

I'll throw in my two cents here as a Buffalo football diehard fan who's seen (most likely?) all of Koonce's games.  He's a tremendously productive player....kinda slowly came on the scene over the years and became a mainstay, always in the mix making plays.  He was pretty neck-and-neck in terms of production with his counterpart Taylor Riggins as the other DE in the defense....Riggins missed the entire fall 2020 season with an injury, you'd think Koonce would struggle with more attention thrown his way, but he excelled more than anyone ever expected.  He did not miss a beat despite more double teams etc.

He is nowhere near the flash player that a guy like Khalil Mack was.  The UB defense has been very strong for G5 football standards, and at times, he didn't standout in the way that a true superstar like Mack did.  But he was always good to make a few plays a game, a key sack or forced fumble, hurrying and pressuring QBs.  Solid, consistent, productive, though perhaps not a game-changer player.

I am curious to see how they use him.  I saw him more as a 3-4 OLB in the NFL.  Long and lanky but perhaps a bit undersized compared to today's 4-3 DEs.  He's listed around 250 but honestly, he "plays smaller" than that, if that makes sense.  I think his best fit off the bat is a 3rd down pass rush specialist.  But I do think he has solid long-term NFL potential.

Mayock said speed "bendy" DE type rusher

Solomon Thomas will perform better now that he is not being forced to play out of position like he was in SF, is healthy and not battling depression/grief (his sister committed suicide).

He will be a crucial addition... I wouldn't be surprised by him being more crucial than Yannick.

With the young safety added now, new scheme/game planning/coaching... I expect a significant improvement from this defense.

Nate Hobbs, CB. Sick athlete, had played press and C-3, which fits the team. Tall.

Another good pick. Or....reasonable.  👍

You can see roster slots for all these guys.

Potentially we took a Defensive Back group that was lacking a starting FS and depth, filled that out, got flexibility, a guy who potentially can cover TE's that are hard to match up with (Kelce) and created depth.

#IDP - New Las Vegas Raiders S/LB, Divine Deablo's numbers in 2020 (per @PFF):

🔹 84.4 coverage grade (5th among draft-eligible safeties/2nd among LBs)
🔹 78.9 overall grade (6th among draft-eligible safeties/8th among LBs)

Was asked by teams to potentially play LB.

Raiders get Jimmy Morrissey.

47 games started. 6', 300, good athlete.  Think he's a swing C/OG.

Have to assume he has a better shot than most 7th rounders to make the team.

There were no Tanner Muse's or Lynn Bowden's this year.

Solid draft.  No 2020 opt-outs, which I am happy about.

Updated undrafted FA signings:

RB Garrett Groshek, Wisconsin

LB Max Richardson, Boston College

DT Darius Stills, West Virginia

DB TJ Morrison, Stony Brook

OT Devery Hamilton, Duke

WR Dillon Stoner, Oklahoma State

TE Matt Bushman, BYU

RB Trey Ragas, La Lafayette

Reports were that we signed Casey Hayward, then that was walked back but it does seem we are talking.

Also saw a report talking to Richard Sherman as well.

No way this happens. And I want nothing to do with him. The cost would decimate the raiders for years to come. Similar to the Herschel walker trade.

what do you think it would take?  Would they even want Carr?

carr/waller/and some Combo of 2022 and 2023 2024 1st rounders  maybe more

No thanks
Exactly. They are going to ask for a king's ransom for a 37 year old QB. No thanks. No doubt he is significantly better than Carr but how many years does he have at MVP type level? Not many. Meanwhile, we gut our team to do it? No.

Now, if he stays put and GB gets desperate to make a deal to avoid a situation where he retires or whatever and it doesn't cost crazy numbers... I am listening. But even then, he wants a monster new contract.
