The Marjorie Taylor Greene Thread

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) spun a new conspiracy theory this week that combines capitalism, communism, fascism, corporations, the coronavirus vaccine, the biblical apocalypse and President Joe Biden in one extremely hard-to-follow narrative.

Greene, who is known as the “QAnon Congresswoman” for her embrace of wild conspiracy theories, railed against the notion of “vaccine passports.” That’s a proposal for a form of ID to prove that someone has been inoculated against the coronavirus before traveling or attending certain events.

“Is this something like Biden’s mark of the beast because that is really disturbing and not good,” she said in a rambling Facebook Live video, referring to an apocalyptic prophecy from the Book of Revelation in the Bible

Greene also warned that “big, powerful corporations” would enforce those passports.

It’s still fascism. Or communism. Whatever you want to call it, but it’s coming from private companies,” she said. “I have a term for that, I call it ‘corporate communism.’”

She said companies thrive on capitalism but are also “adapting these communist policies just like the Democrats are and they are pushing them on us through their private companies.”

I am beginning to think that MTG isn't very smart and has no idea what she is talking about

Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert were the lone two members to vote against a bill that would reauthorize the National Marrow Donor Program, which matches bone marrow donors and cord blood units with patients who have leukemia and other diseases The bill passed 415-2

:shrug:The bill had nothing to do with guns, So I’m guessing they weren't interested. The good thing is that it passed.

It's good to see someone finally take a stand against these selfish marrow donors.

#######' liberal elite socialist media claims another victim:

Marjorie Taylor Greene scraps planned launch of controversial 'America First' caucus amid blowback from GOP

The planned caucus, focusing on a "common respect for uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions" has been scrapped.

It looked really promising, too.  Other charter members were Louie Gohmert and Paul Gosar (His family doesn't even like him).

Tragic, really.  Hopefully we Anglo-Saxons will catch a break someday.

GOP Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Lauren Boebert of Colorado were the only members of Congress to vote against a bill that would provide patients who suffer from leukemia or other blood diseases access to potentially life-saving bone marrow transplants.

The legislation, called the TRANSPLANT Act, would reauthorize  the National Marrow Donor Program for another five years. The program helps match bone marrow donors and cord blood units with people in need.

The bill overwhelmingly passed the House in a 415-2 vote on Thursday evening. Twelve lawmakers, including freshman Republican Rep. Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina, did not vote on the bill.

A spokesman for Greene told Insider in a statement that the bill "opens the door" for the National Institutes of Health to "research the remains of babies who were murdered in the womb."

"Nothing in this bill prevents the funding of aborted fetal tissue by taxpayers," he added.

Couldn't the same thing be said about nearly every bill that she did vote for?

Yes. Also, I think she could have objected to the bill to reauthorize the National Marrow Donor Program on the grounds that nothing in the bill prevents taxpayer funding of pizza parlor basement child sex trafficking.

That sounded crazy to me.

Then this popped up from ProPublica:

But new financial disclosures show that Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., relied on an email marketing vendor that takes as much as 80 cents on the dollar. That means their headline-grabbing numbers were more the product of expensively soliciting hardcore Republicans than an organic groundswell of far-reaching support.

Whole thing is worth reading.  These consultants, with their list of donors, are killing it.  What a great business.

Hawley and MTG are in full 'fake it till you make it' mode.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), the QAnon-curious congresswoman who’s become a rising star in the GOP, has been pushing for a “pay per view style” debate with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on the Green New Deal for a week now. On Wednesday night, however, she admitted there was one little problem—she has yet to read the climate change proposal she’s been railing against for months.

Posting a photo of her speaking to Ocasio-Cortez on the House floor, the far-right lawmaker tweeted that she was “glad” to run into the New York Democrat in order to plan their debate. “After I finish reading all 14 pages, like we agreed, I’ll schedule time for our debate,” she added.

The Georgia congresswoman, who recently dropped her plans for an “America First Caucus” based on “uniquely Anglo-Saxon traditions,” didn’t provide a timetable as to how long it would take her to complete the 14-page reading assignment.

Neither could AOC.  She's as dumb as a box of rocks too.

Please. If Vegas was running odds, they'd have AOC at something like -220. It would be an absolute thrashing.

There would be no odds because no one really knows whose the bigger idiot.  Think of them as the Mark Sanchez and Gino Smith of Congress.

I'd give it about 12 minutes before Margie is challenging her to a burpees competition.

I disagree.  Many of us may disagree with her politics (and her outspoken methods), but she is not dumb.

Seriously.  You might not like her policies but she is well read and has policies.  You might like it but she actually is trying to improve the lives of her consituents

I couldn't agree more.  She's too left wing for me but she's well researched on most things

To his point (because I have him on ignore).  Racial injustice has played a huge part of climate change because we have been exploiting the third world for decades.  The connection is pretty clear and easy.  Is it too much of a sound bit for a complicated topic...sure probably.  But it's not wrong

"Bye. Bye, AOC. Ocasio-Cortez. Bye, bye, baby. Bye-bye, baby. Bye-bye, little baby girl. Ocasio-Cortez-- she went and hid. She couldn't take it," Greene says. Visit was the same day Greene suggest Nancy Pelosi could be executed for treason.

Seriously, this is who the GOP wants in their party, while running out Cheney?
