Intro:

Hello and welcome to The National Fantasy Football League 3.0, i.e. “The NFFL 3.0”

This is the 3rd add on to the original “The NFFL.”

The National Fantasy Football League is a 16-team league comprised of (2) 8-team conferences (The AFC/NFC) which both comprise of (2) 4-team divisions.

This league has been designed to recreate as authentic of a feeling of being an NFL GM/Coach as possible. The rosters and scoring has been developed in a way to allow you (the GM/Coach) to build a winning franchise for years to come in a multitude of ways. Whether you decide to focus on offense, defense, or a well-balanced approach; this league is designed to be more in depth. Is your front 7 your focus? Your secondary? Your Wide Receiver core? Your Running back Stable? Etc.

Each season will include a 5 round rookie draft in which you can select players in hopes of building your franchise around; or perhaps you decide to trade those picks for other productive players in return. The possibilities in terms of how you chose to manage your team is endless.

The scoring has been designed to include as many scoring categories as possible, and the scoring has been titrated in a way that allows you to compete and win using a variety of strategies.

Each roster will be composed of 53-man rosters including 11 offensive starters and 11 defensive starters. The rosters will be composed as follows:

Offense:

QB/RB/WR/TE/K (SUPER FLEX) – 1

RB – 2

WR – 3

WR/RB/TE - 2

TE – 2

K – 1

Defense:

DT – 1

DE – 2

LB – 3

CB – 2

S – 2

DT/DE/LB/CB/S (SUPER FLEX) – 1

Bench:

31 slots + 3 IR slots

Each season teams get to offer up to (9) 4-year, 3-year, 2-year, and 1-year contracts to a variety of available free agents. Teams bid against one another in a live auction room to the rights to said free agents and contracts. This forces teams to make smart long term and short-term decisions based on their salary cap, rather than solely focusing on the draft. This does not however eliminate the need and importance of having good rookie drafts year in and year out; or utilizing that draft capital wisely, if nothing else.

You will be forced to manage your salary cap, chose wisely when to use your franchise tag(s) and who to use them on, who to give contract extensions to, who to cut to save money, who to trade away to save money, etc. etc.

The inaugural season will include a 5 round rookie draft (the order of which will be randomized) and will begin May 15th, conducted as a slow draft (up to 24 hours per pick).

The league auctions will then take place either Sunday Mornings or Nights (we will vote on this) for 2 hours at a time, beginning June 1st and occurring every Sunday until completion.

The league’s pot will be $1600 per season and will be distributed as follows:

The Highest Scoring Regular Season Team In The AFC And NFC Both Receive $50

Each Division Winner (4-Total) Secures a Playoff Spot / ($100) Prize

Each Wild Card Winner (4-Total) Secures a Playoff Spot / ($50) Prize

Round 1: (Divisional/Wild Card Round) – #1 Seed vs #4 Seed  /  #2 Seed vs #3 Seed

($75 Prize Per Winner – 4 Total Winners)

Round 2: (Conference Championship) – Winners Of Round 1 Compete For The Conference Title

($150 Prize Per Winner – 2 Total Winners)

Rounds 3: (League Championship) – AFC Champion vs NFC Champion For League Title

This league is designed to recreate an authentic feeling of being an NFL GM/Coach if the prospect of this intrigues you. Please reach out to me at:
