It's All About Spa-Mar (DelaToga?) Now Featuring Degen Bullrings For Your Disposable Income & Derision 🐎 (Missing GB MoCS) (2 Viewers)

I don't see anyone beating the 3/5 favorite in the 5th and can't really figure out a way to make money on this race, so I'm wheeling it in an exacta, hoping for something 10-1 to come in second, and I'll make slightly more than nothing.
i'm ICE COLD 🧊

but i did go with 3,9,10 as my pick5 choices ... look at one of 'em for the wheel if you dare.

Well this is stupid.  There's really no reason to bet the 6th at all, so I'm going $20 atb and a $2 ex wheel on Quick Power Nap.

What a dumb bet.

i had 1,3,10 for this last leg of the early p5 ... now wondering how i ignored Irad/Rudy with the #2

I don't see it with the 2.   Pretty uninspiring works and even the place in his debut he lost by 10 lengths in a pretty blah race.
... stepping up in class, to boot - only positive is first time blinks - Rudy has a nice roi with that change.

3 mtp

heavy on the 9 here for race 7 - first time out for Rudy, his barn hits high % with first time out for them.

horse has burned a ton of coin last 2 out on the turf, but his speed fits perfectly here - the class relief is huge, as well.

love this one - LIVE mofo.

The 10 in race 5 looked good doing it. I’m not sure he hit her
the most gorgeous turf effort of an otherwise uninspiring meet thus far

Lovely Lucky looks too tough here in the 8th with those two scratches.

Actually was thinking it’s a good race to try a first timer but liked the 8 more
Rosario is looking tough on that 12 - gotta agree with Rover - she gotta hustle out there pdq, tho ... 8 is in a nice spot here.

them 5.5f hit them fast - hoping the 1 can hold serve 'til the stretch.

Javy got more outta that one than i figured ... 12 needed another furlong - busting out that far post was a tall order for a 5.5 spinach run

Spa - Early Pick3

no jumpers today, so we get right to work ...

6,8,9/1,6/2,7,9

noting the 2 on the third leg - it's a coupled entry, and i have yet to see this designation win a race thus far ... they are burning a ton of coin - Manny/Pletcher for both, so i'm hoping it's Taarashoq as the entry.

looking at the day's card, it seems as if Saez could have a big afternoon ... got him in 2 of the legs of that ticket, so let's see what Luis got today.

:deadhorse:

:headbang:

Have a meeting at 6, so it looks like I'm playing the first two races at Emerald Downs.
any luck?

1st race the four horses on the outside bounced off of each other 2 or 3 times before they got straightened out.   Didn't help the 3 though, which I liked for place and show at 19-1.   Well, good news is I have the first leg of a pick 3.  Bad news is if I win it will pay about $5.

Edit:  Owner's claim of foul by the 1 against the 2.   Don't see it, but an owner claim of foul is really weird.

he had 9 mounts, went 3-3-1

not a horrible day to tail him atb, his winners paid $17, $7, $10 - average of $11 n' change.

but he blew it in the 1st on the heavy fave, coming in 2nd ... rallied nicely, though, after that hiccup.

Malathaat returns today in the CC American Oaks ... YUUUUUGE field of 4 for that one 😁

reminds me of the '09 Mother Goose at Belmont, where Rachel faced only 2 other horses ... but it did allow for Borel to have her canter and prance for us both pre and post race - they had zero effs to give, and Rachel ate it up.

anyways, Mal is 2/5 ml favorite, and basically amounts to free parking in the horizontals, though there are gonna be plenty playing against her, as well - the value of those tix if she falters will be quite choice - don't use the 4 horse either if that's the plan ... use the 2 & 3 and pray for a cotdamn lightning strike 🙏

back with picks later on.

right idea, wrong horse ... 1st leg comes in 13/7/1/11

13 was 21-1.

shut it the #### down.

undeterred, we go slumming to a bullring that gives bullrings a baaaad name:

Penn National - Early P3

5

1,8,11

4,6,7,8

$1 = $12 layout

the #3 horse is a pretty prohib ml favorite in that first leg (7/5), but was dusted by roughly 20 lengths last out, which was also it's first ever race ... first time lasix tonight, tho - and has a very capable pilot to sift thru this field ... but i'm gonna single that #5: shipping from Pimlico, getting class relief, possessing exemplary top notch speed figs for this lot, and 6/1 ml.

sink or swim, no use in looking any further ahead if this one doesn't fire.

6 p.m. post time.

Will Pay For That .50 Pick 4

some big balloons possibly getting doled out ... this track is catching my eye lately - these pools are consistently beefed up.

duly noted.

... shoulda known bettor

Wow - you’re playing some dumps now…….
:lmao:

meh, i have a ton of soccer winnings burning a hole in that acc't right now (it's joint Sportsbook w/Twinspires).

Penn Nat - yes, a very slight step above betting on bum fights, i'll give ya that.

but Colonial Downs has a gorgeous turf track, consistently robust fields, and very attractive pools to chase - it'll be on my regular rotation forthwith - gonna crack that mutha.

just caught the GIII "Hard Spun" Stakes from Presque Isle Downs

had no idea it was running, as i put my cue in the rack for this evening ... but i saw the tease on the upcoming racecard header, and just had to peek in.

first off, PiD is synth.

what kinda tribute is that to one of the most honest engines we've seen this era?

man, come/stay/lay/pray ... you knew Hard Spun was gonna give you the maximum bang for your "NEED THE LEAD!!" buck - if the gate sprung, he was in front.  case. closed.

not as accomplished as the subsequent heir of this style in Shackleford, but just an honest cat who always ran his race.

i guess seeing his legacy relegated to a ¡synth! track that makes Penn National look like Royal Ascot is a bit disconcerting - check that, it's a ton disconcerting.

he deserves better.

- the 1 horse tried to wire 'em, in true Hard Spun fashion - but he was inhaled in the stretch by the chalk.

kinda fitting, no? inasmuch that it was a microcosm of the namesake's biggest moments, but sadly played out on some recycled tires in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's hinterlands ...

where have you gone, Roosevelt Raceway?

Betting Mountaineer right now while I wait for a meeting.
any luck with that?

used to play the night circuit a ton (Mount/Chucktown/Penn) ... liked the Mount best of the three.

had great success betting the West Indie cats Ray Ganpath & Andrew Ramgeet - they didn't get a ton of mounts, but they had a knack for bringing in very loooong and live horses. it was uncanny - can't recall ever seeing one of 'em on a single digit animal.

Deshawn Parker started dominating up there ... sorta like the Russel Baze (Hi, Zow!) of West Virginia ... Ramgeet and Ganpath started to get even fewer mounts, and the magic kinda evaporated (we talkin' circa '09).

Chucktown was pure 🤡 show - never saw a colony of more juiced TBreds in all my days ... you'd consistently see mules who couldn't bust a 40 BSF suddenly zipping thru murderous fractions as if their tails were soaked in kerosene. i tried narrowing this trait to specific barns, etc ... but it became quite evident that figuring out whom the snake oil salesman visited for any particular race was futile, at best.  can't say i never hit some nice ones up there, but the pin the tail on the doper #### became much too tedious.

Penny Nat has a jockey room full of schlubs who conspire pre-race, i'm convinced.  i'll fight anyone on this  :boxing:

Spa - Early P3

still showing a slight profit up there, but today can surely knock it south if the TILT sets in ...

gonna switch it up this afternoon by including the race 1 jumpers in this early p3 ... why the #### not - maybe it'll jump start my horizontal game

R1: 2,4,7 - trying to beat the #6, who is gonna get slammed hard.

R2: 1,2,6 - really liking the looks of that #1 horse - speed figs are perfect in here, added bonus of first out for new barn. if i crap out on the first leg jumpers, i'll be banging this #1 horse (Fox Red) 'til my elbows bleed - if Cancel breaks clean this could be over by the 1/2m mark.

R3: 4 - not a fan of singling chalk, but this one is on a 2 race winning streak, including a 150k stakes at Big Sandy last out - now he gets a class drop (this is 75k) to go along with the best form of the lot ... what could go wrong?

playing this ticket for $2, which is an $18 layout ... cheap bastids can play it for $1/$9.
