Salt Shaker or Shaker of Salt? (1 Viewer)

Who actually calls it this? C'mon Jimmy,
Instantly popped in my head when I saw the title. He should earn a knighthood for that turn of phrase to have been so deeply embedded in our heads without paying rent. That's impressive.

Wastin' the day away in Margaritaville...

Technically it is a shaker and you can put whatever you want into it. So if you put sugar in it is it a sugar shaker even though it was sold for salt? Or is it a salt shaker of sugar?

Probably the worst lyrics of all big "popular" hits.

And "stepped on a pop top"? He sings like it like "stepped on a pop tart".

Those of us old enough to remember pop tops have no trouble with that line. Things were like razor blades hiding in the sand or grass.
It was tough being barefoot in the olden days. In addition to removable pop tops there was more broken glass with fewer plastic bottles.
