Quality of rankings this year - what say you? (1 Viewer)

Just ran draft dominator for my league - custom settings.  Nothing weird, non PPR, 5 point bonus for 300/100 yards, all TDs 6 points.  So I look up and see Shenault ranked higher than the likes of Cooper Kupp? Really? Also Claypool, Aiyuk, Sutton, Boyd, Jeudy.  Others look off as well.  Any others really question rankings? Just checked and it doesn't match up with top 300

I was seeing glitches in mine as well. I used the help link to report the issue & they got it dialed in.

What about Auctions Jo? I'm sorry, but it does not run very well for that. Constantly becomes unresponsive, I pulled the plug after an hour. 

It's also important to note. There's a huge difference between having trouble with one of the drafting tools compared to disagreeing with our projections.

We have Shenault as WR26.

Aiyuk at WR27

Claypool at WR28

Smith-Schuster at WR29

It's also worth noting that all those players are tightly clumped in total projected points. So if someone wanted to flip those four, I wouldn't argue. But I don't have the luxury of doing the when people ask us for rankings. So we rank them. 

This is likely more about Shenault who we like a lot. 

And this always comes up anytime we have a ranking outside of Average Draft Position. If you want to play it super safe and go with the crowd, our Average Draft Position ranking will be more useful. We love ours here https://www.footballguys.com/adpppr?viewpos=wr&sortby=consensus

But I have always urged our folks to use their knowledge, skill and ability to project what they think players will actually produce. Not what the crowd thinks.

It'd be tons easier for me to just slightly tweak Average Draft Position rankings and then nobody ever questions the "quality". We've never felt comfortable doing that.

The Draft Dominator has been working great for me on Auctions. If you're having trouble, please let them know at footballguys.com/help. 

I love the ability to enter all the variables into the Draft Dominator and then get a printable pdf of the entire league pre draft with all the Auction Values based on our Value Based Drafting principles. https://www.footballguys.com/article/2021-value-based-drafting And then of course if you really want to go deep, you can enter the actual auction values as the draft progresses to get dynamic calculations.

No joke, mine would become unresponsive on every other pick. I fell behind and could not catchup with the picks. Never again for an auction. 

It's great for regular snake drafts though, no real complaints about that.

Thanks Joe. Not questioning projections and I get many of those guys are lumped together.  But not Cupp.  As an example, in the Top 300 Cupp is at WR9.  Shenault is WR31 (Aiyuk is WR24 there).  So at a minimum I don't get how Shenault could be ahead of Cupp in any list, including Dominator.  Sorry if this is not the right way to address it.

I don't understand why Hopkins is WR1 in PPR Top 300 but in my Dominator PPR he's WR6.  Why wouldn't they match up?

Always go with the Draft Dominator. It's driven by the most current updated Stat Projections. https://www.footballguys.com/projections/preseason?projforwhat=wr&projector=996&profile=p

The Top 300 is cool, but it's a dated tool that has to be manually updated. It often does not have the latest projections. 

There will often be times when the two don't line up. Know that the Draft Dominator is the one to go with.
