I know the college football season started last Saturday, but the real action begins this weekend.  I might as well give out my Top 20 for the year:

1. Alabama (12-0)

2. Ohio State (12-0)

3. Georgia (12-0)

4. Clemson (11-1)

5. Oklahoma (12-0)

6. Cincinnati (12-0)

7. Iowa State (11-1)

8. Wisconsin (12-0)

9. USC (12-0)

10. Texas A&M (11-1)

11. Notre Dame (9-3)

12. Washington (12-0)

13. North Carolina (11-1)

14. Indiana (10-2)

15. Miami (FL) (10-2)

16. Iowa (9-3)

17. Oregon (10-2)

18. Florida (10-2)

19. Penn State (8-4)

What’s the record for most undefeated teams in a college football season?  I have no idea what’s normal, but 9 undefeated teams seems quite a few.

I don't count conference championship & bowl games.  I'm just predicting the record during the regular season.

 
Let me go into more detail.  Here is my preseason Top 20, and the regular season records that each team will have before conference championship and bowl games:

1. Alabama (12-0)

2. Ohio State (12-0)

3. Georgia (12-0)

4. Clemson (11-1; only loss is to Georgia)

5. Oklahoma (12-0)

6. Cincinnati (12-0)

7. Iowa State (11-1; only loss is to Oklahoma)

8. Wisconsin (12-0)

9. USC (12-0)

10. Texas A&M (11-1; only loss is to Alabama)

11. Notre Dame (9-3; losses to Wisconsin, Cincinnati & USC)

12. Washington (12-0)

13. North Carolina (11-1; only loss is to Notre Dame)

14. Indiana (10-2; losses to Cincinnati & Ohio State)

15. Miami (FL) (10-2; losses to Alabama & North Carolina)

16. Iowa (9-3; losses to Indiana, Iowa State & Wisconsin)

17. Oregon (10-2; losses to Ohio State & Washington)

18. Florida (10-2; losses to Alabama & Georgia)
