I love your work and the effort you put in these threads, but I do think you will be proven wrong on this. In standard PPR, Allen has been a top 12 WR in ppg in every season he has played with Herbert (2020-2023, 2025 so far). Last season, Bears OC Waldron was terrible and was fired after week...
I assume you are referring to Slater, and I agree he is a great run blocker, who effectively has been replaced in the lineup by Pipkins, who is not. But another factor is that the Chargers have kept TE Fisk inactive the first 2 weeks, despite the fact that he is a great run blocker, probably the...
With regard to pass protection, FWIW PFF has graded 12 Chargers players in pass protection through 2 games. Hampton has the worst grade (25.9) and Harris has the second worst grade (26.2). Their charting shows Harris has allowed 1 pressure (a hurry) in 5 pass blocking snaps, and Hampton has...
FWIW, it appears to me:
In the NFCCG after the 2022 season, Purdy tore the UCL in his right elbow and missed more than half the game.
In 2023, he was held out of the week 18 game to rest because the 49ers had already clinched the #1 seed.
In 2024, he suffered a right shoulder injury in week 11...
I don't own Bowers and would certainly play him if he is healthy in every game. But I wanted to point out the Chargers aren't his best matchup.
Last season, in 2 games vs. the Chargers:
On 17 targets, he had 10/108/1 receiving
He had his 3rd lowest and 5th lowest PFF offense grades
He scored...
Before the season started, assuming no injuries, I predicted Hampton would get 60% or more of the RB touches and Harris would get 35% or less. I see no reason to deviate from those predictions.
The current top 5 TEs by contract average:
Kittle - $19.1M
McBride - $19M
Kelce - $17.125M
Hockenson - $16.5M
Andrews - $14M
What is a boatload for Likely? Generally speaking, even these TEs are affordable given the level and progression of the salary cap.
I don't think Slater will ever start again at LT for the Chargers unless Alt is hurt. I think Alt is going to contend for 1st team All Pro LT this season. It is Alt's natural position, and the more important position for Herbert. Slater will likely miss much of offseason/camp/preseason, implying...
FWIW I read an article recently that said you can ask Jersey Mike's to put one of their cold subs on the grill to warn/toast it. The article said it is franchise-dependent as to whether they will do it, and noted they probably would be less likely if very busy at the time. I haven't tried this...
