Demarco Murray (2 Viewers)

Murray was 10-32 rushing and 1-7 receiving today. What am I missing that makes him so great?
he was 8-35 going into last drive9 in the box and Garrett being afraid to let Romo throw the ball even Barry Sanders might have rushed twice for -3yds in that scenario

:goodposting: Give this kid a chance to get starter reps in practice and see how his o-line blocks in reps. This kid is fast, and has good hands, and is explosive. If you are not rolling this guy against StL, your insane. He may fail, but the upside and potential is just to juicy to pass up.ETA: This is a Jerry pick, just like Felix, he is gonna push for him...as long as Felix is out, and with a HAS that could be 4-6 weeks at his position.

I like this kid and think he will eventually be a good, not great RB for the Cowboys.

I would like to see JJ stop looking for the next flashy/speedy RB and get a smash mouth RB. I think Dallas has a lot of problems running the ball because they have lighter edge type runners. We NEED a brusier like Barber was in his younger days to get 2-3 yds in tough situations.

Ever since JJ passed on SJax in 2004, he's been dead wrong on RB's. Dallas needs a workhorse on 1st and 2nd down to setup the play action pass.

just my .02

As long as he doesn't keep splitting with Choice, he has potential to be good. He had a possible TD catch bounce off his hands in the red zone yesterday but he was doing a good job of darting along the sidelines to get extra yardage. Might not end up good enough to replace F.Jones as the starter when healthy, but could be a nice week 7 bye week fill-in.

They dont trust the rookie in pass protection...so, at best this is a 50/50 split while Felix is out. If Dallas gets up big in games, DeMarco will have a chance to help salt games away...but, when does that ever happen with the Cowboys? They always find a way to screw things up. Even with Felix out...DeMarco is a borderline flex play during BYE weeks only. Nothing to see here.

Agreed. I do think he has a good matchup this week vs the Rams if you need a one week rental. I expect Dallas to build a big lead and run the ball.

Not if Romo can help it... :bag:

Add me to the list. I'll be starting Murray and Battle this week since Best and Jacobs are most likely out. Also going with G Little over Julio. Fantasy Gods be with us.

Like I mentioned earlier in the thread, I will be starting him this week because of byes and the Best/Felix injuries, but I have to admit I'm not as high on him as many (or Dodd's rankings). I think he will put up solid numbers in a non-ppr, but I think Choice will be in on third down/passing situations and the goal line. I think if given the chance, Murray will offer quite a bit in the passing game, but I just have a feeling he will not be used that much in that area

Anyone rolling him out there vs the Rams?
I will be, but mainly because Fred Jackson and Lesean McCoy are on a bye, and Felix and Best are hurt. Looks like I am rolling with Murray and Daniel Thomas. Ouch.
Whats wrong with that?A runner vs a horrible team, and another runner who is a good solid back against another bad team.

Overpaying in FAAB to get him this week. Plan is to start him over Hardesty (or Tolbert if he sits). I think Murray will be a decent flex value over the next month with RB2 upside, especially if Choice gets hurt. I'm right on the playoff borderline, so Murray will be crucial to fill in my bye weeks, as I don't have much RB depth.

That's pretty tough. Not knowing the split, I still think MJD is the better play. Foster had a tough day against Baltimore, but still had over 100 total yards. I guess it comes down to who you think has the better chance of scoring. I would go with MJD.

I guess it's not that bad when I look at it objectively, but my team was built on having dominant RB's, so going from Fred Jackson, Lesean Mccoy and Jahvid Best in the flex, to Thomas and Murray is a little rough. My WR's are adequate but not great because of the RB quality I have (starting Vjax, Moss, Little, and Harvin this week).

Yeah, and I know if I sit MJD he will probably have his best game of the year

I have Felix and Hillis. I picked Murrey over Hardesty. Hatdersty flat out sucks. Now I have to choose between Murrey, Sproles (non-ppr) or even Garscon.

I'm liking Murrey against a horrible Rams team who may be without Bradford. I bet the kid gets 20 touches.

Is this a bad trolling attempt or are you hooked on phonics?
If you want a trolling attempt, re-read your own post.. As a matter of fact, I could put on a clinic with your posting history.. :P

I may have some typos here and there, but man this is just terrible.

Someone in my league dropped Murray for John Kuhn last night and Im sitting here like :whoosh:

Not to mention he's had Murray since like week 2 and he drops him now

I can understand why Dallas is considering Choice as their goal line back, as his specialty this year has been getting 1 yard per carry.

Holy spit, I have FJax, McCoy, and Felix too. I even have a Dolphins RB as well (guess who...)But I'm rolling with DeMarco and Starks this week at RB
Ouch. Hope u have killer Wrs and a nice qb

I drafted #6 and #9 this year. I took Little (over Newton) and Murray #9. Seemingly best option to break through at RB this year. I liked the research I had available on him. Others are hurt or not playing. LeShoure, Williams, Vereen, Ingram's playing but not doing much. DThomas was taken.

I'm starting the kick in my flex....Forte. McGahee, Murray, Hardesty, McCluster...not the best RBs in the world with BLOUNT out.

I think you haven't seen what this kid is capable of yet. We don't know his ceiling... he's got upside. A lot of people had given up on McFadden after a few years. Why do 29yrold breakout? Fjax Lloyd? Sometimes is it takes a little longer.

You could do worse than taking a gamble...I agree there's risk...on Murray. I hope he helps me forget my mistake in passing on Newton.

nice points, but your post breaks down when you compare Murray to McFadden - McFadden was a high 1st roud pick, while Murray is a mid round talent with a limited skillset . . .

Only have VJax, Marshall, and Little at WR. I thought Reggie and Starks were gonna be decent where I got them and that Danny Amendola in the 9th was a steal too (14 team PPR)I do have Stafford and Eli though

Would you rather have DeMarco Murray or Maurice Morris over the next several weeks in PPR?
The Lions have a week 9 bye, Dallas is finished. Murray has Choice to deal with while Morris seems he's more of the lead Rb in Detroit, at least for this week. Felix will be back in a few weeks while Best's year is more up in the year due to his injury even if he does come back.As you can see, there are pluses and minuses to each. I think you need to play this situation 1 week at a time. I don't think either guy is your long term solution at Rb this year. So with that said I think Murray is your guy in Ppr because he is a better receiver than Morris and I like the matchup Murray has in St. Louis compared to Atlanta for Detroit.
