WIS 2012: Back to the Future II - Draft and Season Thread (2 Viewers)

I'm going to be a few hundred IP short. Drafted 10 starters (11 if you count Andrew Cashner), and six of them have crap-ped out (7 if you count Cashner) . :kicksrock:David Price and Jason Vargas are actually a reasonable 1-2. Then there's a huge drop to Luke Hochevar, Joe Saunders, and Derek Lowe :X Saunders and Lowe won't reach 160 IP.Then after those guys, I have 177 IP -- total -- from four healthy relievers.

A almost have an equal horde.

Just looked at the Catcher position throughout the league. Outside a hand full of select teams there is a whole lot of suck there.

Latest drafted player that will be rostered?

45 . 23 [ 1079 ] TRE. . . . . .. RP Cesar Ramos(low IP)

45 . 11 [ 1067 ] rodg12. . . . . SP Erasmo Ramirez(Low IP)

45 . 06 [ 1062 ] Jfranco. . . .. RP Ryan Cook ( Might be the winner, 60+ nice BP innings)

45 . 01 [ 1057 ] BradyMarino. .. OF Justin Maxwell(Decent SLG)

44 . 23 [ 1055 ] RnR. . . . . .. Adam Ottavino

44 . 18 [ 1050 ] Boubucarow. . . SP Chris Tillman

44 . 16 [ 1048 ] Cheese. . . . . SP Lucas Harrell(Nice IP)

44 . 03 [ 1035 ] DocDeGreco. . . SP Kevin Jepsen

44 . 02 [ 1034 ] TRE. . . . . .. RP Juan Cruz

I will be rostering Andy Parrino who I drafted at 44.13.

Not because he is any good, but because I need his 112 PA's and his middle and corner infield versatility.

I got Freddy Galvis at 45.20 and he has 200 PAs.

His numbers suck and I'm not planning on rostering him, but if MI depth is bad enough I might be able to deal him to someone.

Lucas Harrell 44.16 is definitely in a rotation in this league. He's started every 5th day ever since opening day with solid number. SP is my strength though so he's also available for trade.

I am just happy that I drafted a 25 man roster that appear to be able to handle all the needed innings and plate appearances.

Kirk Nieuwenhuis - 314 pa - 252/315/375 - Probably will be the best option in CF to rest Span

Gaby Sanchez, 1B - 298 pa - 226/285/347

Dave Sappelt, OF - 36 pa - 281/362/406 - if he reaches 50 pa, could be a good pinch hit option

For any of these guys I would be looking for upgrades anywhere. A specific area of need would be 150 or so quality 1B PA's and possibly a similar number of CF PA's to rest Span in the leadoff spot. Deals like your SS for Escobar and some of my innings is the type of deal I would be looking for otherwise.

Mat Latos could be available for a more significant upgrade. It could depend on how the innings/stats shape up for my pitching staff over the next two weeks.

I have a couple of blue chips I'd like to turn into a handful of serviceable players:

C.C. Sabathia - 184 IP, 1.174 WHIP, 8.8 K/9

Giancarlo Stanton - 475 PAs, 283/354/595 34 HR

Need starting rotation depth, RH 3B, C, OF ABs to replace Stanton.

As long as we're altering rosters, I never got my last 3 picks on mine... P Chris Archer, OF Anthony Gose and 2B Freddy Galvis. All 3 are borderline useable so I'd like to have them added while I catalog my roster.

Maybe you fools should empty those inboxes.

I am open to trading either Capuano or Latos. I also have TWood, ZMcAllister, JLyles, and JGomez that can give various levels of back end rotation depth. BLincoln, FRodriguez, Scrabble and CMarmol (maybe you like the suspense of a quality reliever who just happens to walk 7 per 9) could be useful out of the bullpen. I have 210 crappy PA's at C and 320 crappy PA's at 1B that could be throw ins. Also Campana's steals are available.

Looking for 300 quality C AB's, 150 quality 1B AB's, 150 quality OBP CF AB's, or upgrades at any position with my player back to you as a replacement if needed.

I would give up Capuano or Latos in the deals for Rosario and Sabathia (with TWood or ZMcAllister). If I get a catcher, I would also have 340+ 600 OPS catcher PA's in JThole.

In the "Great SS Experiment" of 2012 I ended up with some absolutely crappy players. My only saving grace might be Daniel Descalso. He has 26 games at SS, with 20 of them being starts and 184 innings. His range factor is 4.55, which seems to be very good. His zone rating is 5.168, which is about the same as his teammate Rafael Furcal. Unfotunately, his fielding percentage is .921.

Any idea what that might translate to? Is he usable at SS?

The veterans can correct me if I am wrong but...You need 20 games at a position for the ratings to not be penalized. So you are good with Descalso there. Range factor per game is the key stat aside form fielding percentage. Descalso takes a hit there to 3.58 so he could have below average range for SS.

Got some pieces, but far too thin on pitching. So many guys didn't come through.

Unfotunately, his fielding percentage is .921.Any idea what that might translate to? Is he usable at SS?
The veterans can correct me if I am wrong but...You need 20 games at a position for the ratings to not be penalized. So you are good with Descalso there. Range factor per game is the key stat aside form fielding percentage. Descalso takes a hit there to 3.58 so he could have below average range for SS.
.921 will probably be a D- rating at SS, but I think given that it's an all 2012 player league, it's probably playable. Assuming Descalso played 110 games at SS, maybe 35 errors?

Jesus - I only have 966 IP.

I need innings. I can offer up Reyes for innings and a worse SS.

Can give up 30 innings of very good Luebke and some other PAs from super sub Downs and Ryan Howard or something for some crappy innings

Someone send me some offers. Please

Will you do a Reyes and Howard for Yunel Escobar swap if I throw in one of my top 6 starters plus additional starter innings?

Well, my other choices are a mish-mosh of Wilson Valdez/Jack Wilson/Omar Vizquel so I guess Descalso cant be much worse and at least he can hit a little. If anyone has any SS at-bats they dont end up using let me know. Maybe we can work out a trade.

I do have an OF of Ethier/Ludwick/Swisher.

Would be willing to move one of them to upgrade at SS.

One of them plus Descalso, who also qualifies at 2B and 3B, for an upgrade at SS plus an OF back.
