Man, I love this site and have been with Bryant and Dodds since cheatsheets.net. Great site; but please don't go DirecTV on us.

This is like DTV offering up their new DVR+All Channels free for 6 months to "new subscribers" only.

Although, the Survivor Contest is cool....but still. I read this thread and my first thought was "what do we get for being around for 6 years?"

Don't get me wrong Joe and David; I love the site and service; just giving you some feedback.

GL with the new promotion.

Can I requested a refund via the money back guarantee and then sign-up up again?

Reason for the refund - better/more product available in the market at a better price.

Reason for signing up again - best/most product available on the market.

the directv new subscriber argument is interesting, but the site costs $20 if you get in early every year. i dont think anyone can argue against paying $20 for all of the content. the preseason/predraft stuff is the best and worth $20 by itself. everyone thats been around since the beginning knows that these guys are real people and real fans, so why critique them for trying to make some more $$ off of their knowledge. the site gets better ever year too so we should assume that at least some of the additional profits would be reinvested back into the site for more content and other new features. net net - they win, we win.

Not trying to state an argument; just letting them know what I thought when I first read it. I am in full agreement and stated many times in my post that I love the site and content. It is a great deal for sure. The best FF content; very customizable as far as features like Team Tool and the matchups......and the boards kick ###.....Not even a rant; just some feed back for the boys. They are certainly doing a good job and I subscribe early every year and purchase the new magazine.I'm just saying it kinda felt like the DTV adds......that's all.I wish FBG.com all the best with their new promotion....you are right it's a win-win. Trust me, this is probably the first time I ever said or thought something remotely negative or critical of the site.....

From the perspective of Joe and David, this makes lots of sense. It will probably work for them.

From the perspective of a customer that signed up for three years as a sign of both my appreciation of the quality of info and my respect for the endeavor they were attempting at the time, I'm irritated that they are basically offering a half of a year free to other people.

Oh well, life goes on.

PS. Don't let the Lineup Dominator/Top 200/Trade Dominator be free this week.

:goodposting: I was thinking the same thing and was about ready to go postal :boxing: then I realized that maybe if we wouldn't be so paranoid and would recommend this site to our competion, Joe and David wouldn't have to stoop to this level. Then my logical side kicked in and said that they can give this away all they want, I still am not going to recommend it. :P

As Commish I recommend this site ONCE to each new owner. I think 2 out of 12 have signed up....prolly a couple more I am unaware of....I also recommend it to any one I know that plays ff outside my league...It's more about how you use the information on this site. As Joe said "it's a just another tool to add to the tool box".....

Gotta raise some cash quick for that $50,000 prize pool? I'M KIDDING!!!

Seriously though, what am I geting for this special? I am paid up thru next summer...so basically I am buying next year now, right? I think you should offer the $49.95 for 3 year deal again...that would get more responses IMO.

How much is next year going to cost? For 1 season? $39.95...that would be an incentive to buy now.

They are selling 2007 basically for the same price as this year...if you bought 3 years for $49.95, you came out way ahead Hammer.

I love this site and the content, but shouldn't some focus be put on retaining current customers rather than generating new ones?

David and Joe is there anything in the works to offer your current loyal customer base?

note: i'm going to be a suscriber, regardless of an offering for current users...

GL with the new promotion.
I've also been around here since the Cheatsheet days and the yellow boards...what do you get for being around here for 6 years?? Maybe a few FFL championships and some 2nd place finishes over the years like me? That in itself should be enough! This FFL regular season only has 4 more weeks for most leagues then the playoffs. As a subscriber for this season, we already have access through Feb 07. If I read the offer correct, Joe and David are offering the rest of this season for free if non-subscribers sign up now for the '07-'08 season - at full price. A lot of us current subscribers will probably sign up at the early bird special rate next year.

Sorry if this sounds like ###-kissing, but I was surprised by the "what have you done for me" attitudes.

You have a point. However, I don't think anyone that has posted critically of the promotion in this thread is flying off the handle. The vibe I have and that I'm feeling is that it woulda been cool had the original post said something like:"Thanks to everybody that signed up this year, hope you are having a good season; for those that didn't get a chance to sign up we have a special offer."

I said "what do we get for being here for 6 years?" because I felt there was no mention of the existing subscribers. ESPECIALLY since the thread is posted on a board where many people are current subscribers.

Anyway, whatevers clever; Joe and David are good guys; it just woulda been cool as a current subscriber to get a minimal  ......Either that or put "New Subscriber Special Offer" as the title.

I clicked on the thread thinking; "COOL, a special offer." But it was not for me.....oh well....such is life.... ;)

note to self - scratch broncofan13000 from my list of potential negotiating agents.

Note to those #####ing and myself - FBG will offer some cool promotion next year when the time comes. This year we had an earlybird special and some other type of promotion for the magazine with golden tickets and other freebies. Also, the more subscribers, the more potential prize money in the big contest and the post season contest (knocks on wood hoping for this again).

I'll start by saying this is the best place for info...bar none. However, as a current paying customer, I would like to see 3 options for next year.

1) A package for the draft and contest.

2) In season stuff and contest.

3) A combo of option 1+2.

Personally, I would just like option #1. I really don't pay much attention to the "in-week" stuff. (Just being honest)

Not sure if I will be returning for next year.

How about offering those of us that were foolish enough only to sign up for the one year deal a chance to upgrade now to the three year deal? :D

They are selling the rest of 2006 and 2007 for $25.95.
most sites are discounting the rest of '06 to get folks in on the cheap...rather than go that way, David and Joe offer up the rest of the '06 season, plus all next yr thru Super Bowl into '08 @the single yr rate...as always, out in front of the curve  (...says paying member on the 3yr plan!)seriously...if any of you guys ARE NOT on board yet for premium content....DO THIS THING!in addition to covering the season thru the end of regular season play, many of us enter post season leagues/pools...David and Joe continue to crank out the service thru the playoffs--the "2nd season", if you willthis deal covers you thru the end of this regular season, '06 playoffs, off season, '07 preseason, '07 regular season and '07 postseason! :loco: let's call it the price of a decent cup of coffee/month thru Feb '08...enjoy! :coffee:

As a premium subscriber and long term member elsewhere I can understand the frustration of those who have been long term members here at FBG about this offer.

BUT as a person who hasn't previously been a subscriber to FBG I can tell you all that this is a very attractive offer.

If this attracts new members and increases the membership and knowledge base within the Forums isn't that a good thing?

The more paid up subscribers the site has the more product the writers will be able to release. More product equals happier customers, no?

I have repeatedly, over the course of the last four years, encouraged my associates in this great pastime to give this site a try. Finally, this year, 3 did. I will post this new and exciting offer to my league mates and see if any bite. No offense taken here. The more the merrier, I always say.

I do have a question for Joe and David though.....

Earlier this year, prior to the premium content going live (I believe it was in a "What to expect this year" post from Joe) it was mentioned that some apparel would be available this year. I have yet to see any content regarding the apparel shop. Any chance this comes to fruition this year? I do realize this is not the most pressing issue at hand each week, I’m just wondering if there are any plans for this endeavor going on behind the scenes. Maybe a fully stocked apparel outlet next year? Two prior years clothing was offered and I purchased articles each time. I would like to do so again, preferably this year. What’s the scoop?

Steve

I'd consider it if we could get a Subscriber Contest that doesn't exclude residents of select states from receiving prizes. We pay a subscriber fee just like everyone else.

??? WTF. I've been a member for several years and I DID sign up up this year for the three year subscription in pre-season. But it was at $59.95, Not $49.95. I never saw it at that lower price. I better win my league this year (or the 'survivor' contest, which I'm still in!) or I'll be mad ! ;-)

26 bucks is a BARGAIN. This board is worth that alone. The content here is 2nd to none!

Obviously I know that the board is free. My point is that if you're looking for great content for a great price, then pony up the $$! :banned:

At the risk of sounding like a cheerleader, let me say this; I don't know Joe, David, Doug, or the rest of the guys that comprise the FBGs "staff" personally...I do know that most of them were originally posters like us since back in the days when it was called "Cheatsheets" and who were rewarded for their thorough knowledge and keen insight by being promoted to the positions they now hold...as a nucleus they have made this the most complete, thorough venue of FF information online...

As a businessman who holds his own in the fiercest of competition, I want to wish them well on this promotion in the hope that I'll be better able to analyze the contents of the information provided by this site than any of my FF opponents who might join it...

Good luck Joe and FBGs, and I hope you are able to stay in business.....

Is the FBGs draft cheetsheet from this year available for free viewing?
Yes, but it won't be available until next year.
I only asked because seeing their draft predictions from this year could help me with my decision of joining. The draft is probably where a lot of us do the most homework. I did throw down $7 on a draft mag this year, knowing it was dated and not very accurate, but it gave me something to read away from the internet.

This is the same as $6 for the rest of the year and $20 for early bird price next year.

It was supposed to be a joke, dude.

Great guys, just remember that things they schedule for Thursday won't actually show up until you log-in on Friday!

You Down Under too? :bye: :D :banned: As a dynasty player it's not necessarily for the particular week of publication that I'm after the info. Thanks for the heads up though.
