Looks like he failed a court-ordered drug test for opiates and might end up spending some time in the clink. The Commish can't look kindly on this - clearly he didn't learn after getting an 8 game suspension. What a waste.

The guy is just about out of football despite having great talent. Hope he can get his life together because he seems like a time bomb.

This guy needs help. To be on the verge of stardom and flush it all away for a "funny feeling" is just ridiculous. Let him go and use Tab Perry or pick up Key Johnson to play the slot on 3rd downs to allow Chad & TJ to stretch the field.

Tack on another 8 games. Have a nice season.

I'll take the over. The new sherriff in town is going to boot his ### for a long time. The comments from Goodell are very blunt (no pun intended) that spells out a looooong vacation for Henry. "I must emphasize to you that this is your last opportunity to salvage your NFL career," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell wrote Henry when he suspended him. "I urge you to take full advantage of the resources available to support you in that effort."

What was the date when Goodell announced his new policy? I think I'd like to sart keeping track of all the idiots that get arrested after he made that announcement. I wonder what team will be the last team standing to have someone arrested after his announcement.

:blackdot: My new dynasty team needed him. If he's not done now he's going to be. It's only a matter of time.

That photo would make a great avatar. User name could be any of the following: Chris Henry's Coat, #2 Outlaw, PacMan...I'm Coming 4 Ya, or Repeat Offender.

i guess it's easier this way.

now i won't have him taking up a roster spot while i continue to think "oh, he's so talented, maybe he'll turn it around."

Guys like Henry and Pacman and Vick truly puzzle me.

I don`t think they realize how easy their lifes could be if they just followed some simple rules.

1. Don`t get into gunfights at nightclubs.

2. Don`t drink and speed while driving

3. Don`t smoke weed and drive.

4. Don`t get involved in weed and dog fights.

5. Don`t beat your spouse.

This is getting lost in everyones attempt to be a comic.
Prosecutor: conflicting information now on Henry drug test

The Kenton County Attorney now says his office has conflicting information on drug test results involving Bengals receiver Chris Henry.

Earlier today, Garry Edmondson said Henry had failed a court-ordered drug test, adding that Henry tested positive for opiates.

Edmondson indicated it would force Henry to serve up to 88 days in the Kenton County jail.

Edmondson says one test came back negative. He says results of another test are pending. He would not say who told him the test was positive.

Local 12 continues to follow this story.

Well we got this smiley  but I guess we also need one with a red challenge flag ;) And yeah as a Bengal fan if this is a true positive, and not a false, he's gotta go become someone elses problem.

As a mini-threadjack, what's the % of guys who got it back together with another team after something like this? Seems that typically there's a lot more David Bostons than there are um, whoever you guys find as an example who switched teams and worked out.

In the mean time :stirspot:

I was just about to report that my buddy in Cincy told me he saw Henry parking on the street the other day in front of where he works (since he was already in trouble for driving on a suspended license). But I guess this news trumps that!!!

I'm inclined to give people a second chance, but if this story is true, it means Henry has screwed up after about three or four second chances. It's pathology at this point. He has a problem.

Basically that's the difference between a thinker and a reactor.

Maybe one of the reasons the Bengals have been such a suffering franchise it that they apparently put up with this kind of crap from (maybe) the 3rd best WR on a very promising team. Can anyone see the Colts or Patriots having put up with this clown for so long? Or at all? Good franchises run things like a business. Obviously you sometimes make exceptions for particularly valuable resources, but Chris Henry isnt that valuable. This sets a terrible precident.

Until the latest change involving Goodell and the Players Union, this wasnt possible. You could not waive, cut, suspend for conduct outside of "on the field" performance. If so, you risked a lawsuit with significant damages. This is what the owners were asking for recently and Goodell and the Players Union gave to them. The ability to waive someone for off the field issues.

It totally makes sense and it's a step in the right directiontowards washing the filth out of the NFL.

Did a little research on false tests...EMIT test are good for false positives....sounds like they are the cheaper test....if there is a positive on the test then a CG/MS confirmation should be used to rule out a false positive.

Sounds like what they are doing for Henry right now, waiting for the confirmation test. There are plenty of things that can cause a false positive on the EMIT test. Waiting on the confirmation test....which the news should of done in the first place.

(KFFL) Updating previous items, ESPNews reports that a Kenton County prosecutor has stated Cincinnati Bengals WR Chris Henry did not fail a court-ordered drug test.

Even though Kenton County has said Henry did not fail his drug test, it just felt right when you heard he did, didn't it? Let's face it - it will be an upset if this guy has no incidents between now and the end of his 8 game suspension. I took him out of my rankings on the news, and Im tempted to not put him back in, because it seems like this headline is coming sooner or later.

It really doesn't matter. Maybe they were just speeding up the process. His future is convict. Give him time.

Curious if anybody knows whether or not, Henry is already entered in the NFL drug program? In other words, is he already getting tested routinely by the NFL?
