Wow, just wow! Sorry, I just like saying wow, just wow.
I guess what all your League Champs under your belt, we should have you rank your top 10.So what is your top 10?I've always suspected EBF is just a Bloom alias. Now I know it's true.![]()

I don't have a top 10. I don't have any rookie drafts until after the NFL draft so I don't have to think about it very hard until I know what teams they land on (how's that for a cop out answerI guess what all your League Champs under your belt, we should have you rank your top 10.So what is your top 10?I've always suspected EBF is just a Bloom alias. All are money leagues. The Misfits & Outlaws leagues and the HyperActive leagues are pretty well known on this board, made up mostly of FBG message boarders and staff. But let's talk about Bloom's list instead.Or, a easy way too put it Stewart won't be in your top 2.It would have been interesting to see.Did you at least win money in those Leagues?Do you play in any money leagues?I don't have a top 10. Agree, what do you think the top 10 should look like?Back on topic.I am surprised to see two WR's ranked in the top 6 when every expert has said not only is a strong RB group but a weak WR group.
All I can say is don't believe the hype. This is actually a pretty decent WR group. The only reason it isn't getting love from pundits is because there isn't a Calvin Johnson/Braylon Edwards/Larry Fitzgerald in the group. The depth is pretty good though.Back on topic.I am surprised to see two WR's ranked in the top 6 when every expert has said not only is a strong RB group but a weak WR group.
I was also surprised, but think that based on pure talent Bloom's top 10 is pretty good. That being said, if the second tier backs (Charles, Johnson, Smith, etc) end up in favorable situations they'll more than likely be drafted ahead of these WR's in that 4-10 range.Back on topic.I am surprised to see two WR's ranked in the top 6 when every expert has said not only is a strong RB group but a weak WR group.

But this is a pre-NFL Draft. No one knows were any player will be drafted.Until than, Bloom is giving His top 10.What is yours?I was also surprised, but think that based on pure talent Bloom's top 10 is pretty good. I think we'll see less consensus among the top 3 than we have in a long time, at least until we see where they all get drafted. There's been a lot of concern about McFadden's body type, and now his character is beign called into question more and more. Yet guys like Kiper still see him as the best player in the entire draft. We may not really know who ends up the best player for another 4 or 5 years. The Kelly pick at #4 is surprising, given that so many experts don't see this as a draft containing elite WRs, and that he didn't attend the combine. I love his size, but even in PPR I'd be pretty hesitant to take him 4th overall given the WR bust factor.I'd move RBs Rice and Jones to #4/#5 at this point, not sure which I'd put first between them. Then I'd probably take a shot at Kelly at #6.I'd go with Hardy next at #7, or maybe even before Kelly. This 6'6" guy could be a monster WR if he develops his NFL skills. At #8 I'd go with Matt Forte. i have a really good feeling about this guy's ability to do well at the next level.I'll agree with Matt Ryan at about #9. That about where the top QB should go in a rookie draft this deep in RBs.At #10 I'll go with WR Limas Sweed. I think he has all the tools to excel in the NFL. And he's a little older at 23, and the extra maturity could help. I guess I'm not as high on Devin Thomas as Bloom, because I'd also put Doucet ahead of him.I don't like Jamaal Charles much to be honest. In his interviews he displayed a 10 cent head, not being able to answer questions about blitz pickups and other things. He worries me. It reminds be of Cedric Cobbs out of Arkansas a few years ago, a solid college RB who busted at the pro level.
I appreciate your work, but not sure why you would use PPR? PPR just doesn't make sense for RB's and this is why it less popular
I like Smith after Rice but before Forte. Depending on where they go, I would probably rank one or two of the WR's ahead of him. Say we sub Smith for Hardy at #7 and put Hardy where Ryan is at #9. Ryan completes the 10.How do you like Smith? I'm suprised more "experts" aren't high on him. I think his floor is higher than just about any RB in this class. DeShaun Foster (without the injuries) at worst. Could be a Pro-bowler one day, IMO.
That explains why the WRs are higher than I expected. My rankings we not based on PPR.I appreciate your work, but not sure why you would use PPR? PPR just doesn't make sense for RB's and this is why it less popular
PPR is actually the most popular. Pretty much all major high stakes league use some sort of PPR scoring. Maybe it is less popular in your leagues. Out of the 15 or so league I join every year all but one is PPR.I appreciate your work, but not sure why you would use PPR? PPR just doesn't make sense for RB's and this is why it less popular
Luv the public service as usual, Not surprised to see something unlike anything on the net. 4 non-rbs in the top 10(top 12 would have been better!!!). Building the suspense by design I suppose. Top 12 would have attracted more attention. Readers not familiar with your exceptional work in larger leagues might pass up your Top 10.

Good move to move Ryan out and Forte in.More so in your draft.Hmm, where's Forte going to end up on the Bloom list? I think he'll end up in my top 10, but I'm in leagues where rookie QBs don't have much value (so one spot open with Ryan pushed out). I'd probably push a WR out of the top 10 too.Great stuff. :thumbs up:
Both Kevin Smith and Chris Johnson (your #6 and #7 ranked guys) scare me due to their level of competition to begin with. Conference USA and the NFL don't exactly have the same speed or tackling ability on defense. I guess you could say that about Forte from Tulane, also in ConfUSA, who I really like too though. Oh well. You asked about Smith, but first I'll begin with Johnson. He really only had one standout year at RB, having also been a WR, and that makes me have less confidence too. I also think he's undersized and although there are exceptions who do make it as feature backs, the odds are against it. At #7 in a rookie draft I want a player I think I can count on for production in year 2 and beyond, not a long shot or complementary player, which I think Johnson will be.Kevin Smith is intriguing, but as you said a lot of "experts" aren't high on him, and to be truthful those are probably the same experts I'm relying on for my own opinion. I can't say I'm that familiar with him, having seen him play twice I think. He's built like McFadden at 6'1" 212 lbs. At that height I'd prefer at least 220-225 on him (Forte is 6'2" 222 by contrast). I can't argue against him if you really like him, but the ConfUSA defenses bother me, and players who make late moves up draft charts based on the combine worry me. Again, I have a gut feeling about Forte and you could use my own arguments against him, so if you have a good feeling about Smith and Johnson I hope you're right. I'm sure no draft expert. How do you like Smith? I'm suprised more "experts" aren't high on him. I think his floor is higher than just about any RB in this class. I think some people are missing this aspect of his rankings. Adjusted to non ppr would probably make the # and placement of backs more similar to what we've been discussing around here.Liquid Tension said:I appreciate your work, but not sure why you would use PPR? Shouldn't Mendenhall pick #1 in a ppr league?I think some people are missing this aspect of his rankings. Very little separates Forte from these two for me in terms of fantasy upside. Obviously in a PPR, or in a league where you count Return TDs, Johnson's value is relatively higher. I probably have Johnson too high, but his speed and quickness are game-breaking and my list is based mostly on upside. He's got some learning to do in toting the rock, specfically between the tackles. But if he can put on 10+ lbs, I think he could be a productive offensive player in the right system. Bottom line is he needs to make the most out of the touches he gets, because he won't see 300+ offensive touches like a typical fantasy-bellcow 'back. With his explosiveness, I'd be willing to gamble that he can become a game-breaker in some capacity.I can see where you're coming from with the argument that the Conference USA is weak competition. Infact, 5 RBs off the top of my head had ridiculously productive years: Smith, Forte, Johnson, Anthony Alridge (similar player to Johnson), and Jalen Parmele (might be the headliner of the tier of RBs after Slaton and Thomas Brown). So maybe the Run Defenses in that conference were just awful last season. But still, Kevin Smith was ridiculously productive.Couch Potato said:Both Kevin Smith and Chris Johnson (your #6 and #7 ranked guys) scare me due to their level of competition to begin with.
