Shark Pool Mock Draft - V1.0. (1 Viewer)

Andy Dufresne

Footballguy
Last year's 2nd version.

Some people have already expressed interest, so I thought I'd start this thread before I lost track.

For this first iteration, let's not do trades.

You can GM either as you'd like to see your team pick or as you think your team will pick (get inside your GM's head a bit) but you must write up a defense of your pick. It doesn't have to be an essay, but should be a couple sentences at least.

If people want to solicit the input of other homer board members for their respective team and come to a consensus, that'd be cool too.

We'll start next Monday after the Super Bowl is done.

I'll take Detroit, I followed their quest for perfection pretty closely this year and my team doesn't have a 1st rounder this year.

Since my Eagles are taken, i'll take the Bills (unless a true Bills homer would like them). Really i would like to take part with 1 team, but it doesn't really matter which one.

I'll be around plenty for this and would like to take part. Chicago Hooligan took the Packers....I'm sure he'll do us proud. Good luck Hooligan, it's not easy to try to get into TT's head.

I'd like to take one of the straggler teams that no one else wants.

<ETA: I'll gladly take the Pats if a homer doesn't want to step up>

tx for taking the Pats. I'd rather be on the sidelines offering my input since I don't know if I'll be available for the draft, and I'm not very bright. Some thoughts going in...1. Several mocks have NE taking CB in round 1. They have three 1-2 year players who have game experience and the draft pedigree to be starters and they have Ellis Hobbs. ONeal and Sanders will likely leave. I maintain round 1 will be either best available if someone drops (they almost always do), linebacker, or lineman.2. Pick 47 - this is where they take CB unless a value CB was there in the first round.3. Pick 58(?) - best available, probably comes down to a WR or a lineman.Edited to add: I agree with some mocks that have NE taking LB Brian Cushing(?) from USC. Secret wish is that NE somehow acquires Percy Harvin.

If you're a :D and really want to do the mock, I will not get in the way. If you don't think you'll be able to take the time, I'll be more than happy to do it. I've already looked over the current roster, everyone else's opionions on their needs, and past drafts because I wouldn't want to make stupid selections. I'm a believer in BPA in many situations if you're okay with that. Harvin would be an outside the box choice but if he's BPA, he may be the best choice. I'll step aside if you want them but if you don't, I'd be happy to give it a go.

Updated with the responders.

For duplicates, I put both names so that those guys can bounce ideas off each other. The first responder is the primary though.

Looking forward to you thoughts on the Vikes Andy. I really think things will change with FA for this team. I'd love to hear your thought process if you want to pm or email...

Nice stuff looks like we almost got a full crew.

Remaining teams:

Kansas City

Tampa Bay

Tennessee

Carolina (i think)

Carolina is without a 1st. Used it in a trade to get Otah last year.
if we're doing 2 rounds then they will still have a pick to make in the 2nd round.

how many rounds are we going to do? If we're doing 2 (or more) we still need a team for the Panthers.

treat88, I didn't see yesterday you'd already signed up for Pittsburgh - feel free to PM me on any picks if you want...
