Saints sign Julius Jones (1 Viewer)

(RotoWire) Jones agreed to a contract with the Saints on Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.Analysis: Jones had just 12 carries in three games with the Seahawks before being released last week. Jones' role on his new team is a bit in question, but his signing could signify that the Saints expect Pierre Thomas (ankle) to miss more time. Jones is unlikely to see much action early on, but those in deeper leagues may want to take a shot in case Jones works his way up the depth chart

Julius is a bum. He will more than likely have one decent game, he will be a hot pickup and then he will fizzle away like a bad fart.

He runs right into the line and falls down. If there is a huge, gaping hole, he will run through it and look like he may have some talent.

This is a mirage.

He doesnt.

Yuck.

Also, Betts was not at fault on the Brees interception. That was a terrible throw. You don't throw a dart like that from 4 yards away, much less one that's high and behind the receiver. Brees doesn't get his share of the blame when things go wrong, but when he's off he is really bad.

Lynell Hamilton missed out on a golden opportunity when he got injured this preseason.

I also can't help thinking the Saints will invest a high pick in a RB in next year's draft. There's no way they go into another season expecting Pierre and/or Bush to stay healthy.

Speaking of Bush, he should be back soon and may have some upside given the situation.

 With this whole Betts / Ivory / JJ mess and the concern of PT's injury worst than expected, I bet Bush is sitting on many waiver wires ready for the pickings.

Assuming there is a season, I wouldn't be surprised if both PT and Bush are gone. PT may opt for free agency considering the way they lowballed him in negotiations this past year. And they can't afford to keep paying Bush the way they are - Nicks, Harper, Goodwin, Moore, David Thomas, Bushrod, Ayodele, Hargrove and Shanle are all free agents. All of those guys are starters or key role players. Nicks is going to get big dollars, not Jahri Evans money but probably not too far from it. Goodwin, Bushrod, Hargrove and Harper are all deserving of substantial raises too.
