Never really went through my bill but I have been paying 21 bucks or so a month every month for taxes. I thought it used to be under 10 bucks like the Cable taxes are but apparently not. Anyone else paying this, I live in NY

Many players, consequently, are financial prey. "Disreputable people see athletes' money as very easy to get to," says Steven Baker, an agent who represents 20 NFL players.

Looking at the bold part -- it appears that half of the "taxes" are just Sprint's way of lining their pocket. None of it is actually a "tax" by the government.

You know when conservatives say stuff like "corporations don't pay taxes, consumers, employees and shareholders pay taxes? Well, here you go. The government charges all of these taxes to carriers and they pass them on to the consumers. My guess is that they would prefer to just hide them in their rates, but the government requires them to break them out. Although, I'm sure they'd rather advertise a rate of $69 a month and then nail the consumer with those charges once they're signed up than advertise a higher rate. So maybe being able to break it out like that actually helps them out.

My entire cell phone bill including taxes is $7.22/month. It's a prepaid that requires $20 to be added every 3 months. We have it for emergency use only. With a non-Chet job and a stay at home wife a cell phone is pointless and not needed unless we go on a trip. I'd like to call it frugal, but in reality we're just cheap.
