What did you learn from the early games? (1 Viewer)

Lots of blowouts today

-Chicago at home is tougher than some would like to admit

-Rookies look pretty meh across the board

-Haley is on borrowed time

-The Ravens have an offense and that's scary

-The Lions are going to go far if Stafford can stay healthy...good for Detroit fans, seriously they deserve it.

-Vick doesn't have to be good to score points

What did you observe?

I say what I always say. It's week one.

I do use week one to scour for free agent pick ups who can be very productive all year. But I don't heavily judge my studs and starters at all.

Too early.

Guys the venting thread is pinned, use that for your grievances.

I'd imagine this is a thread to help other fantasy owners learn something from the early games.

Foster is in a RBBC

Bradford sucks

Rice and McCoy are the RB's to own

Indy will have Luck

Britt is a beast

Buffalo doesn't suck

I knew i should have went Stafford not Bradford as a franchise QB

As long as the Buffalo defense can keep them in games, Fred Jackson is going to be a pretty good RB2 for those teams that went stud WR, grabbed an early TE or QB, etc.

Eagles O-Line isn't the mess everyone claims it to be.

What happens in preseason is exactly that, preseason.

Ryan Fitzpatrick may be a must start every week.

Hillis and the Cleveland OL made the Bengals look awesome. Hillis may yet have some good games but this game did nothing to inspire me.

Burleson will make a good WR3 or even 2.

The Steelers offense can't really be that bad... Can they? I didn't bench my studs and played Mendenhall over Hightower and Lynch. Week 1 really sucks.

I am going to try hard not to overreact to Hillis and Mendy looking so bad.

The Rams receivers are either unable to catch or Bradford is throwing it in a way to make it hard to catch. Way too many dropped balls.

The Jared Cook bandwagon may have been a bit premature.

Bradford will only go as far as his crappy receiving corps will take him (including Kendricks and his awful drops today).

Either Baltimore's D is back to its former glory or the Steelers just took a dump today.

Chicago made Atlanta look silly, but it seemed like their defense was the key.

KC's pass defense either had a really bad day or will be a match-up to exploit this year.

Ravens D is scary good.

Chicago was getting no respect for a team that was in their Conf. Championship game last year... I think they will now.

C. Benson finish in the top 15 of RBs this year and be a steal. Guy is going to see 20+ touches a week.

Indy's in trouble.

MJD better than expected. CJ, needs some time to get back into things.

Cassel sucks.

Bradford and St.L are/were severely overrated.

Stafford will be a top 5 QB and take Det to the playoffs if he stays on the field. He will also make Johnson the #1 WR in fantasy.

Adam Shine on Sirius NFL radio predicted the Bears would finish 7-9

The Lions are gonna be a tough team to deal with.

1 n 0 aint a bad way to start for them, especially with KC coming to town.

-Mike Vick really likes DeSean Jackson and will trust him to win balls in coverage.

-Jason Avant might be a WR3 this year.

-Celek is still underused.

-Caddy Williams can still play and be a serviceable RB2 if SJax misses some time, but the Rams could be in trouble with all the injuries sustained today.

ETA: Bradford does seem to look for Kendricks often, but Kendricks had a number of drops today.

Early going in the late afternoon games, but it looks like the Redskins and Cardinals are going to feature Hightower and Wells respectively. If so, then those two may be key members on the FBG members only contest.

kickoffs should be fine
Not one kickoff was returned in the Titans-Jags game.
Cobb 2 for 135 and TDSproles 2 for 76

Harvin 103 yd TD

Staughter 78 yd ret

Norwood 4 for 105

KC had 7

Cribbs 3 for 90

Brandon Tate 4 for 92

L.Washington 2 for 55

doesn't seem as bad as people were anticipating
what was interesting was how many returns came from several yards deep in the endzone - those used to be automatic kneel downs.teams are going to be returning more aggressively based on game situation - and for those teams with good returners, they will be running them out early in the game trying to get a big return while they can still take chances and aren't hemmed in to playing more conservatively.

Looks like Cam Newton will NOT be a death knell for Steve Smith , still in the first half and he has 4 catches for 126 yards and 2 TDs.

Those that waited on Owen Daniels as their TE might be in trouble.
34-0 at halftime, what can you really gauge? Punt return TD , Tate/Ward score...how bout we wait till they actually play someone that can punch back?
