Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (9 Viewers)

Damn PS account.  Trying to buy these discounted games and it's giving me crap about needing to update my password, and they will send me an e-mail that may take 24 hours to arrive (has already been 2).  Their online account stuff sucks.

"Over 160 games on sale"on XB.

I just picked up Inside for $12 and Shadow Complex remastered for $7.50.

STEALS, imo

You guys should all get Rainbow Six Siege too.
I picked up Inside, Wolfenstein, and the Batman Taletell series. Moobin where be da gears!!!?!?? It's very good gameplay with decent maps so far.

They are selling a limited edition of Nintendo 3DS for $100 starting on Black Friday. Thinking about getting it for my son. Is it worth it? Hes 7. He likes Pokemon so I can get him the new game as well.
Stores arent getting a lot of these. Better be there hours before opening.

Why is my Xbox One connection so much slower than my PS4?  I get 400+ down on the PS4 and around 10 down on the Xbox.  They are both wired and sitting beside each other.

Current speeds:

Xbox - 7 down and 571 up

PS4 - 486 down and 52 up

Not sure if it's been posted or not, but Amazon currently has some of the recent Bethesda games on sale.  Skyrim remastered for $25, Doom for $20, and Dishonored 2 for $35 are all pretty good prices.

Hell, I might make another run through Skyrim for that price.  Is the new console version a significant upgrade over the original?

Thanks. Got dishonored 2!

Can someone explain the "Xbox Play Anywhere"? Does that mean you don't get the physical game? I assume from the name it means he can go over to friends houses and play on their console?  tia

Question- son has steam, they just kicked off some Black Friday deals. Is the Christmas sale they do bigger? Should I tell him to hold off burning through his steam wallet? He doesn't have anything specific in mind, just likes grabbing new games.

With the Mods it is absolutely worth it. Plus the game plays buttery smooth and has all the DLC as well. It looks sharper. It is still a PS3 game. But I am sinking time into yet again with a new character.

The PS4 mods are plenty good enough to enjoy the game again and have a better, more rich play through.

And thanks for the heads up....just snagged Dishonored 2......pretty damn good price!

I'm going through this now (just with the deals in general) and my big thing is that I don't have time to play every game I want to. And really I don't think it is even humanly possible. A lot of games can be big time dumps. Witcher, Skyrim, Fallout, etc. are huge games even if someone just powers through the main line. Then there's Madden, FIFA, NHL, Civ6, Sims and so on that don't really have an "end." Plus, there's a ton of online shooters that can be played nonstop.

The advice I would give, buy the 2 games that you're going to play and that's it. Those two games plus what he is already playing should get him to Christmas. OR, spend like a madman because I'm sure at Christmas he will probably get a little money to reload that steam wallet anyways. ;)

So Toys R Us ####ed us. We placed the order online this morning at 5am when it first became available. Got 2 DS's. Received the email saying we've processed your order and will contact you when you can come to the store.

So all day, no email. Then 7pm tonight, your order has been cancelled. We don't have it in stock. I guarantee they said #### you to the online orders and gave them out to the people in the store. In which case, at least tell us at noon or so so we can maybe goto the store to get it.

Now we're just SOL as everyone sold out at 6pm.

Is Titanfall2 good for single player?  Not into coop or online play.
The campaign is regarded by many as the best story and game play since the likes of Half Life. I cant say enough about this game.

Been a long time since I played a civ game. just bought civ5, not the new one, with all extra content for 12 bucks.  seemed like a great deal

Really? then I need to buy this game
I haven't played Half Life but the story and campaign isn't special, IMO. I really enjoyed it but it wasn't really a stand out for me. The characters seem like they are bolted onto a story that is never actually realized. There one game mechanic that I really enjoyed but other than that there is nothing overly memorable about.

Also got assassinz creed black sails for 9 bucks.  never played that.  but liked the first couple
I assume you mean Black Flag. It's quite a departure from the first two, but quite easily my favorite of the entire series. They started making an AC game, and did an okay job, but accidentally stumbled into making THE BEST PIRATE SIMULATION EVER.

@need2know

I really enjoyed that game. If you really liked the story and pace of the previous games, this might not be the one for you but it is one of the most fun AC games.

I'm probably half to 3/4 through it and I totally agree.  Fun, but story is pretty whatever.  The MP is good and I can see really getting into it, but it's extremely fast paced.

Ok then. That's usually how those games go. MP is the sole focus with single player being like a tutorial on how to use the controls.

I'm over it now. Was more annoyed at the terrible customer service. I just won't be using Toys R Us for anything in the future unless we get a gift card.
Tons of people complaining online about the 3ds being made available before today on most sites and nobody having a chance to get it.

Lot of different factors to weigh there.  I would do BF1 for the single player campaign.   Overwatch is like a $20 game IMO.
I agree here.  Overwatch is an "in between" game for me.  As in, I play it when I'm in between releases of games I want to play.

If there's any other "World of Tanks" players in here, they are selling 1 year of premium for $45. Which is a ripoff of course, but far less of a ripoff than usual for the "Free to Play" game.

Was this a lightning sale? Not seeing those prices on amazon anywhere this morning.

Edit: At least in Skyrim's case, looks like it's sold out. :kicksrock:  Dishonored 2 still available for $35 for those interested.

Just an FYI.  As a life long COD player.  Infinite Warfare is by far the worst of the series, imo.  I purchased before the demo and kinda of wanted MW:R and while that brings back good memories it also shows its age compared to the versions before this garbage.

I'm not a lifelong COD player but put hundreds of hours into Black Ops 3 and cancelled my Infinite Warfare preorder after playing the beta. I'm still playing Black Ops 3.

After looking around some more, Amazon has a ton of games on big discount today with the catch being limited quantities. So Skyrim SE, Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2 are already sold out for example. I ended up getting Gears 4 for $30, [chainsaw!]

The Kingston HyperX Cloud II gaming headset with is on sale today for $64.99 with free shipping at Amazon.  Regular price is $100.  Was also available for the same price at NewEgg but it is now showing sold out there

One of the best PC gaming headsets you can buy.  I have the older model of this headset and absolutely love it.

Steam sale has a Total War Package that includes; Medieval 2, Rome Complete addition, Empire, Napoleon, Shogun 2 + Fall of Samurai, Viking, Rome 2: Emperor Edition. All for $30.
