    2023 College football thread - That's A Wrap

Unfortunately, there are only 2 conferences now. Way back machine here, but Bear Bryant once proposed a 64 team NCAA thing with 4 sets of 16 teams. I wish we would’ve ended up with something like that organically. Unfortunately we became ruled by tv contracts, and even if we get a similar number...

    2023 College football thread - That's A Wrap

Yeah, it sucks. Not much to do about it. I’ve felt gutted for FSU fans tbh, but the rest of the CFB world freaking out has been fun to watch. Awesome to hear and congrats. I moved to the panhandle a few years ago, and I’m doing well. Just older and dumber than a Google search.

    2023 College football thread - That's A Wrap

I put about as much stock on that 5/6 ranking as I do the committee's weekly report during the season. I hate the committee so much, and it was always a dumb idea. We should've kept the BCS when expanding to 4.

    2023 College football thread - That's A Wrap

Our OC was calling plays for the back-up QB he brought with him, our LT was in his 2nd game out of high school, and our new Center was due for 3 bad snaps a game. I get the "Texas got better too" argument, but coming out of the USF debacle, it was a night and day difference. "Worse loss" is...

    2023 College football thread - That's A Wrap

I do think Texas is skating by way too much in this discussion. The only thing people want to do is mention the Bama game and move on. Head to head should be considered, but not in a vacuum. I expect a rematch in Houston to figure that out now.

    2023 College football thread - That's A Wrap

Well, crap. Logged into the forum for the first time in over a year, I think, scrolled back to Sunday morning posts for schadenfreude, and this is the first one I see at the time of the announcement. Sorry brother Doesn't seem fun to read through now.

    The Russia Ukraine Conflict Thread

Well, the reason I checked out is because it sucked watching that sort of thing from a perspective with which you may agree. I normally spread out my viewership.

    The Russia Ukraine Conflict Thread

That's unfortunate if so. I have completely checked out on regular news, so I have no idea what Fox or anyone else is saying, and you can date that back nearly a year or more.

    The Russia Ukraine Conflict Thread

I'm not saying random people don't say crazy s***. I've been arguing with Q-types for 2 weeks now about the Russian build up being a false flag.

    The Russia Ukraine Conflict Thread

I don't think there's much we can do. There's another forum I frequent more often these days, and while it's littered with Q-re.........jects, there are quite a few actually connected folks from the militarily to politically side of things. I'd say about 10 of them are posting in a thread I'm...

    The Russia Ukraine Conflict Thread

I'm quite worried about sending planes and ground troops in action against Russian troops, but we should sink the entire oligarch fleet of private yachts post haste.

    The Russia Ukraine Conflict Thread

The year is 2021... how many pages was War and Peace? I'll need some time.

    The Russia Ukraine Conflict Thread

I mean, in this day and age, I can't be surprised by much, but "people openly siding with Russia moving into" Ukraine would need some explanation. Where I normally hang out online, I was just arguing with remnants of the Q movement that the whole Russian build up on the border was a...

    The Russia Ukraine Conflict Thread

🤝; agreed to a point as it embarrasses Biden, and it strokes his ego; not really sure, but I'd guess he's trying to capitalize financially, as are 99.5% of congressional members in D.C.

    The Russia Ukraine Conflict Thread

My complaints would be with things which happened over the past year with which I've complained already. We have weak leadership. Trump was unreliable leadership, but not weak leadership. I wish we had someone who wasn't weak and also reliable. Trying to nutshell it.

    The Russia Ukraine Conflict Thread

At this point, I'm worried Putin is the biggest hot head on the planet, and I live near a Naval base which is probably on the nuke list. GL; peace Ukraine for me. If we get into a legit conflict with Russia over Ukraine, I'm afraid we're actually on the cusp of nukes getting launched. My main...

    The Russia Ukraine Conflict Thread

I mean, I called him a narcissist. Do you think I'm disagreeing with you? Didn't I basically just say what you just said in a different way? I think he was going for a Biden bash, but he was dumb enough it could be spun as praise of Putin in this situation. "I think Biden is outmatched"- I think...

    The Russia Ukraine Conflict Thread

I basically called the guy a moron, which I've always said along with being a narcissist, but apologies if I don't think he's "pulling for Russia" in this case.

    The Russia Ukraine Conflict Thread

If it happens, it happens. I'm shocked at what I read here most of the time I visit. Most of the reasonable conservative voices left here long ago, and it was a much more fun place when people didn't get so absurdly upset about obvious jokes.
