This 4*ALS deal is nice work by MLB, to tie the Iron Horse back into a modern problem.

For the uninitiated, baseball is having readings of Gehrig's "Luckiest Man" speech at all ball parks today to raise money/awareness for ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease. Actually an O's fan's idea who's going through the disease and is in an advanced stage.

I hate these hideous hats, don't know if they're part of it, but I guess I can deal if they're raising funds for research.

We find plenty of reasons to kick Bud around, but outreach and awareness of a world beyond the ballpark is the best part of his legacy.
