Tasker didn't get in on thisYou are going to want to lock that down immediately assuming the same jack nut wants to screw up the sheet a bunch of times like in the EPL draft we had.Simple google spreadsheet, which I can refine later:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AkyWtdhvADajdHVvWmZOUllhLWJuSEhkZTY1eTlneFEAnyone can edit right now... we can lock it down later if needed.
seems like people wants to keep it simple, and allow both wins as draws, to not complicate matters I don't care either way, we just need to come to a conclusion. If we don't bother with the draw rule, it's going to be much easier to pick, meaning we'll have more people going deep on the season, and the tracking will be much easier as well.SO what's the draw rule now?
I'm still in regards of all this jibber-jabberbump... 1 week left until the start... would like further feedback/consensus.
Same. Don't really care what we decide on, I am in.I'm still in regards of all this jibber-jabberbump... 1 week left until the start... would like further feedback/consensus.
That was my concern too, that it would be too easy to just pick one of the top clubs, or against a bottom dweller when they were on the road. I'm sure there's a matchup to be found each week for one of the 4 leagues top 5 teams, where they play at home against a lesser opponent.Sure, it might not be great strategy to blow your top-tier games right away, but it could potentially mean that the first 10-12 weeks are kind of boring. The benefit of forcing the draw-repick is to making it a little more difficult, and introduces a little more strategy early, but maybe I'm completely wrong. I've never tried one of these before...Win or draw seems kind of easy. Juventus went 38 games unbeaten last season. Real Madrid lost 2, Barcelona lost 3, Dortmund lost 3, the Manchester clubs 5 times each. I don't think it would be real hard to make it 10-15 weeks without a loss while picking the huge clubs against relegation-level sides.

Agree with all of this. Draw rollovers would be my preference.I'm of the opinion that draw rollovers would be better too, however, I don't want to dissuade the more casual observer from participating by making it too difficult a pool.
I really think the longer we go on about it, the more apt this thing is to never getting off the ground, so maybe Charvik should just make a command decision, draw up the final rules, and get the signup's going :whistle
lol, I didn't come up with the idea, and don't want to steal it from GPJ... I'm ok with making an executive decision tonight though.I'm of the opinion that draw rollovers would be better too, however, I don't want to dissuade the more casual observer from participating by making it too difficult a pool.

That's only 5 teams. This is a looong season. One more idea. Feel free to #### on it. Just spit balling. Draw rollovers only for Champions League teams.Win or draw seems kind of easy. That would make it even messier to track, and more difficult to grasp for someone not as familiar with the Euro football systems. JMOThat's only 5 teams. This is a looong season. One more idea. Feel free to #### on it. Just spit balling.Win or draw seems kind of easy.

Draw rollovers only for Champions League teams.
Charvik: You're needed in the Tim football draft thread. Please report immediately.Bumping our latest "rule-set", that most so far have wanted to use.
Rules:
[*]Survivor Pool Week 1: starts on Friday August 24th and ends Thursday August 30th
[*]Pick one game each game-week of the season (Friday through Thursday) from 1 of the "Big 4":England, Germany, Italy, Spain
[*]Picks have to be posted in this thread prior to kickoff, but you don't have to post it prior to the start of the game week, i.e. you can wait to post your pick until Monday, if that is your selected game's kickoff for that week.
[*]Picks, results and "standings" will be posted on Google Docs spreadsheet and intermittently posted in this thread.
[*]Failing to make a pick on any given game week counts as a loss.
[*]If draw on any game, that game gets added to next week's target
[*]After 3 losses, you are out of the competition
[*]You can only use each team once during the year, i.e. if you pick Malaga to win in week 1, you can't pick them as winners again for the rest of the season.
If 20 or more people; 50/30/20
If 10 or more people; 75/25
the what now?Charvik: You're needed in the Tim football draft thread. Please report immediately.
correct, this is the caseI'm in and fine with the draw/rollover option.
What if you aren't allowed to pick a team twice regardless of win/lose or draw?
You pick ManU to win against Reading and they draw, you can't use ManU again period. You're done.
That should clean up any issues with things dragging out by picking overmatched teams.
And Charvik, :finger: (for the Everton comment).
Pre-season friendlyI'm going to go ahead and have a friendly this week;

I guessed I missed this part. When I was proposing counting draws and wins the same I was going on one loss and gone. That was shot down because too many super teams would extend out or season too long. So we're doing draw rollovers, but making it so we need to lose 3 times to get booted, affectively extending our season. Color me shuked.'charvik said:Rules:

So do we just make our pick in the spreadsheet when we're ready?

I think we said we are posting the picks in here. I will then periodically transfer the picks to the spreadsheet, to keep track of records and remaining available teams. When we get closer to the money, around 5 participants remaining, we'll move to PMs prior to kickoff.sent.
