FantasyScore Staff Sunday Cash Plays Week 6 (1 Viewer)

The NFL’s Week 6 is under way and the Footballguys staff has once again compiled some cash lineups to help give you some insight into what they’re thinking in terms of this week’s lineups.

As always we’ve put together some thoughts on the Footballguys Staff lineups for Fantasy Score, which you can find in their entirety here.

Staff Trends

Hoyer & Hopkins

While you can see several of our staff grabbed Tom Brady, Brian Hoyer was the guy half the participating staff members grabbed. Facing the Jacksonville Jaguars makes him an attractive option, especially at $4500. All three staff members paired him with DeAndre Hopkins, which is just smart. Hopkins went off last week and should again. If you’re gambling with Hoyer – and there is some gamble to playing him given how quick Bill O’Brien is to change quarterbacks—Hopkins should be in your lineup.

He’s actually in most of the other lineups this week even without Hoyer, so that should tell you just how much we expect a big game from him.

Hurns

Five out of seven staff members are trotting out Allen Hurns. The Jacksonville Jaguars receiver has been very hot this year, already hauling in 27 catches for 430 yards. We’d love more than his three touchdowns, but with Allen Robinson exceling on the other side, Hurns is finding a lot of short routes open and making teams pay. At $4100, he’s a very nice play every week.

Glaring Omissions

No Aaron Rodgers this week, which really isn’t unusual. The pattern seems to be, sink money elsewhere. We also only have one Rob

Gronkowski start, which is a bit surprising considering how productive he is. Then again, Antonio Gates is well priced ($5500 compared to Gronk’s $8100) so the value is better with the San Diego tight end.

Diamonds in the Rough

We touched on Brian Hoyer, Allen Hurns and Antonio Gates already, but I also like Ted Ginn ($4200) and Eric Decker ($5100) as cheap options. Cam Newton looked for Ginn a bunch last time out and with nobody beyond Greg Olsen to throw to, that should be repeated this week even against a tough Seattle defense. Decker has a nice matchup against a terrible Washington secondary and he stepped right into a very good game in Week 4 after dealing with a knee injury. He has scored in all three games he appeared in as well—Ryan Fitzpatrick will use him often as he will need another option besides Brandon Marshall when the latter is covered.
