God I love this movie.

Give me some sugar baby.

I really like The Mummy. Hardly a horror and really more of a love fantasy (not saying it doesn’t belong, it does). I watched all The Mummy sequels this October and they are absolutely awful. Don’t ever bother.

As for the Sam Raimi movies, never could get into them.

#88 - Creep

Looking for work, Aaron comes across a cryptic online ad: “$1,000 for the day. Filming service. Discretion is appreciated. Low on cash and full of naivete, he decides to go for it. He drives to a cabin in a remote mountain town where he meets Josef, his cinematic subject for the day. Josef is sincere and the project seems heartfelt, so Aaron begins to film. But as the day goes on, it becomes clear that Josef is not who he says, and his intentions are not at all pure.

Wow! What a radical departure for Mark Duplass from his character in The League. This and the sequel (might be one more coming) are pretty well done imo. The title is perfect.

Saw it opening night and it was awesome.

"All right you primitive screw heads...LISTEN UP!"
Was also there opening night, I think I still have the newspaper clipping of the movie poster. So many great quotes.

"You ain't leading but two things right now - Jack and S***, and Jack left town."

I was just thinking this last night as I watched 3 movies for our DotM: for my tastes Miller is to action what Raimi is to horror.

You know exactly where this movie is going in the first 60 seconds or so. There are no (serious) plot twists or other unexpected developments of any kind. This film wants to deliver a certain experience, and it absolutely succeeds. The 'Peachfuzz' mask, for example.

This movie belongs to a genre that I think of as "we are going to do one thing and really do it well." In horror, these movies are sometimes underrated, and I wanted to give this one it's due.

I just watched As Above, So Below after seeing it in this thread. I liked it in a guilty pleasure sort of way, but it scared the **** out of my daughter (19), which to me makes for a slam dunk.

I had no choice - this movie forced me to watch it by being highlighted on Netflix early in the pandemic. It was gross and I liked it.

Glad I never saw the trailer. The most egregious of these was T2, where they let us know in the trailer that Arnold was a good guy. That hallway scene with the box of roses would have been so much better if we hadn't known that.

Both Them and the OG Thing are classics that I fell in love with again on creature feature Saturday. The sound of the ants in Them was creepy as all get out and the movie was one of the better from the Atomic Age Monster movies.

As for Thing, what I like about it is the relative clarity of thought most of the characters use especially the military officer. And James Arness is impsoing as the creature as we walks towards the planks but then...stops. And the groan of the creature as he jumps through the window is perfect for him. (y)to both of these.
