This will be pinned once the game starts.

If you have comments that may help other fantasy owners regarding player performance, please elaborate on what you see in this thread.

Garrard making strong throws. Sims-Walker catches a screen pass for -1 and is anointed "the Jags possession receiver" by the announcers.

Hightower scored it off the right side, untouched. Wells looked good during his 3 straight runs on the drive, but he came out at the GL after them.

Hightower's quickness continues to be underrated. He's solid when he's decisive on where to go with the ball.

Holy bejesus, Cards block the FG attempt, Rolle gets it and hustles 70 yards for the score, redeeming his lack of a fair cqatch on the punt. Nice turn of events.

how does Garrard look?
Not as bad as his stats indicate, but receivers aren't giving him any help. He could easily be 5-6 for 50 yards at this point. One incompletion was a near pass interference, one long incompletion was a drop by Lewis (he had it, then it came out when he hit the ground on his back).

Penalty calls back a 15-yard run by MJD. 4th penalty so far this game. Then a pass behind Holt. Jags just aren't in sync.

Whether he looks good or bad on the field, it's all about wins and losses and both Garrard and Del Rio will be looking especially ugly if they don't work a miracle here and let the "never do well on the East Coast" Cards steal their home opener.

Wells fumbles when hit from behind, Mathis returns it and might have scored if he hadn't stepped out.

Nm, they challenged it and Mathis was ruled down by contact back at the JAX 20. Big change of field position.

Garrard scrambles nicely, weaving across the field from right to left and gaining 13 yards with a number of Cards in pursuit.

Then Williamson catches it, fumbles it. Recovered by Adrian Wilson. Williamson appears hurt, he's prone.

Williamson was helped off the field holding his right arm. Haven't heard anything yet, but he appears ok on the sidelines.

Warner finally fires an incompletion. He's 15-16 for 137. Haven't seen him air one out yet, but he hasn't needed to.

TD from Warner to Wright, short right. Don't know if anyone hits those quick passes as well as he does. Jags just aren't able to keep up--a lot of the yards on that drive came from YAC.

Hmmm, the burial of Warner by many may have been premature. Wish Beanie would stop fumbling. Kid is tearing it up when he touches the ball, but he's not going to get lots of chances if he keeps turning it over.

How has Fitz looked? Is he just being completely nullified by the short passing game? With the Cards being up by so much, I fear that he's not going to be getting a lot of looks in the second half.

Yep. And Hightower being effective isn't helping either, though Wells is clearly the better runner. Re: Warner, I was hoping to see if his throws were being affected by his hip. He's hitting the short routes crisply, but hasn't attempted anything beyond 10-15 yards. Nor has there been a need to. I'm not sure what Jax's plan has been defensively.

Nullified. From what I've seen, Warner's been hitting everyone else underneath and on quick slants, while Fitz has been kept on the outside running sideline routes. Honestly, he's getting rid of the ball so quickly that half the time Fitz isn't even around the play or in the camera's field of view.

Typical Jags drive to open the half: Good catch by Lewis on a rope, poorly-thrown pass to MJD, 3-yard run, then pass that bounces off the receiver. Punt.

Fitz fans happy; he gets two straight targets, on the final one running up the sideline and leaping to get the ball just inside the pylon. Touchdown, 31-3 Cards.

You have to wonder if Garrard's going to be yanked soon, with the game out of hand and him having such a stellar day.

Garrard to Lewis, touchdown. Was a short pass, but Lewis made a couple of nice moves and rumbled in.

Touchdown Sims-Walker on a nice snatch-and-spin. Garrard finally able to exploit the constant pass rush by AZ.

Sims-Walker makes a nice catch on the sidelines, and just like that, Jags back in scoring position inside the AZ 30.

Near miss on a throw to Hughes up the middle that woulda scored, looked like a good play by the defender. Same play again, this time defender falls down, and it bounces off Hughes' shoulder. I think he coulda had either of those with concentration. Drive fizzles.
