apologies if Honda: 

we're moving tomorrow and hired a professional moving company to do the heavy lifting. two guys paid by the hour, clock is running from when they leave the yard (about a 30 minute drive to our place).

any idea of what the going gratuity is? $50 each? more?

There's no great answer.  It's one of those where it's difficult to overtip.  $50 sounds about right.  If they are there all day and do a great job, I think that's reasonable.  And get them some lunch.

I think most movers would consider 50 as very generous.

Moved a little over a year ago, 2 guys, tipped $20 each at pickup and drop off.  I had everything packed up, boxed, stacked and ready so it was easy on them.  Except for the 0* temps.  About 4 hours both trips, so $5/hr tip.
