Justice Democrats (1 Viewer)

That liberal manifesto doesn't work for me because it can be picked apart and ridiculed.

I think it would be better to start with a singular theme, like campaign reform, and call out any and all politicians who engage in unethical fundraising (i.e. legal bribery, trading $ for favors, etc.).  Make that corruption angle the focus of the campaign.  I live in a VERY red state, and think exposing our congressional leaders as nothing more than votes for hire could play well regardless of whether it comes from the left or right.

So do you think the schools will just open enrollment to accept everyone that meets current admission standards?
Don't change the subject.  Your post was illogical.  You should apologize for such a post.

In regards to your question, I do not have any details on the admission standards of this hypothetical scenario we are discussing.  That being said, I do not think it would be wise to accept everyone and not have any kind of admission standards.

To pick just one plank of that "liberal manifesto" as you labeled it. 55% of registered Republicans support raising the minimum wage. In fact every plank of that platform.enjous strong bipartisan support including many items.which have majority support amongst Republicans. Don't confuse the way the GOP governa with the way voters feel.

Or for that matter the way Democrats govern.

And by the way I would have said the same thing to someone saying all Trump voters are.mysoginist, racist, homophobes. Get out and meet them you'll come away feeling differently about quite a few of them. Broaden your horizons you'll be glad you did.
Don't need to go out and meet them. They are my entire family and much of the rural area in which I live. I'm going to stick with your original statement but substitute "most/many (your choice) for "all".

So people.in the airports and the streets over Trump Muslims ban. That's nice but they would have been better served protesting Obama's decision to sign into law the Visa program Trump just took to the next step. Trump didn't pick the 7 countries Obama's DHS picked them in 2015. Obama signed those selections into law last year.

By the way where were all these protests over bombing these same countries? Killing thousands of innocents. Running out of bombs in Syria we used so many. Why weren't people in the streets over dead children killed by American bombs?

And just wait. Going out the door Obama maxed out his expansion of the surveillance state just in time to hand it to Trump. Enjoy.

Must be getting someones attention. Howard Dean mentioned this movement on Morning Joe, the ultimate inside the beltway show.

They were too busy protesting Obama's approval of killing American citizens without due process.....oh wait :oldunsure:

The race between Perez and his top challenger, Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., seemed to echo divisions within the party exposed in the Democratic party primary. Ellison was backed by Sanders and Sen. Elizabeth Warren and other more progressive stalwarts of the party, while Perez was endorsed by members of the Clinton campaign and President Obama.

But he made Ellison his right hand man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also....another little tidbit that has gone under the radar (relatively speaking)....the DNC rejected a resolution to reinstate Obama's ban on corporate PAC contributions.

Way to go guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"He's DWS with XY chromosomes"

Good stuff out there today.
Not really.

It sounds like conservatives (led by their dear leader the President) are trying to create divisions within the Democratic Party that don't exist at the present time. Right now the party is united in defeating everything Trump stands for. Once that has been accomplished, then whatever differences there are can be resolved.

Here's your face of the DNC:

Tom Perez

Wall Street Senator Chuck Schumer (38 years serving the party)

Nancy Pelosi (35 years serving the party)

So we're already on the DINO meme?  The comment I quoted here was from  Leslie Wimes of the Democratic African-American Women Caucus in Florida

The establishment loves this guy, for good reason.  The fracture is getting larger and larger Tim...hate to break it to you.

ETA:  I love that one can think Trump isn't bright enough to tie his own shoes, but can somehow pull off some grassroots sabotage of DNC.  Can't make this #### up....anything to avoid looking in the mirror I suppose.

Is it time for a solo "Democratic Party and a solo Progressive Party?" The party is now divided within itself.

It will never happen but would love to see this country had four viable parties as the hardcore radical left and the alt-right just do not cut it for most Americans.

It really is.  The R's already went this route but got stuck with Trump as the leader of the movement.  The D's have some better candidates to be the face of the movement.  Hopefully one of the steps up and pulls a Trump.

If they would have pulled their heads out and nominated the best guy they had at the time, we'd be talking about President Sanders right now.

So a bit of an update. Currently Justice Democrats have 70 candidates selected to run and has raised over 1 million dollars. They have joined forces with Brand New Congress .

And I have no idea what Tim was talking about when he said the Democrats are united. No they aren't. The corporatists are united and the left is united. But they are not united to each other. the DNC keeps sticking it's thumb in the left's eye and then pisses and moans that we won't fall in line. Yeah we won't. This party changes or dies. They are hemorrhaging registered voters while the Democratic Socialist Party has trebled it's membership. And we see the results. For example I guess Canadian prescription drugs suddenly got a lot safer considering Cory and companies change of heart on Bernie's bill. Bit late.

Bernie live in WV on Chris Hayes show tonight has been solid. Bernie sticking to the tried and true, but the WV locals seem to be revealing cracks in the Trump support shell.

A lot of Trump people are on record saying they would have voted Bernie.

Is there a place to go to see where this movement is working?  We have a replacement vote coming up and am wondering if anyone officially tied to this movement is running locally.  I have very little information on several of the options.....TIA.

There is a link to volunteer, that's probably your best bet. They are hooking people up from there.

Yeah, I filled that out.  I guess I'll wait and see what they say.

Still haven't heard from them other than the "we got your email and will get back to you soon" reply.  I think I've found the closest thing I can to this movement in my area.  For those around the Fort Mill, Rock Hill (District 5) area....here's my best guess:

Listened to her a bit at a townhall and she seems pretty sharp.  Not completely polished of course, but the message is positive.
