Post your 2012 Rookie Draft (1 Viewer)

I know it's early but i'm excited to see some of these start popping up! Anyone starting yet?
http://football33.myfantasyleague.com/2012/options?L=44263&O=17&DISPLAY=DIVISION01Hyper and Active sides have started on this one
Looks like Ryan locked these up...I apologize Ryan if I shouldn't have posted the link
Sorry, was not because of you. A couple of our owners requested this. I will post when they are finished.
Thanks for posting the draft. Looks like a really fun league. Do you ever think about doing a 32 team one? Now that's a pot. :blackdot:

2.02 15. Tenacious D Jenkins, A.J. SFO WR ® Sat Apr 28 10:40:27 p.m. ET 2012 Earlier than I wanted to take him, but I was sold on Jenkins prior to the draft. Santonio Holmes-esque.
I'm not sure that's a compliment
There were a lot of gambles after him that I didn't like. Jenkins is only 21 and Manningham is signed to a 2 year deal. I also don't think Crabtree will be in SF very long. I'm not expecting much more than low WR2 numbers out of Jenkins but I feel he's a safe pick for that.

Reddog - Draft (with some FBG staffers)

1.01 1. Tony Spera Richardson, Trent CLE RB ® Sun Apr 29 9:29:34 a.m. ET 2012 This one is for you Robbie :)

1.02 2. Robbie Brooks Blackmon, Justin JAC WR ® Sun Apr 29 9:39:12 a.m. ET 2012 It is okay Tony. HOpe you can trade Richardson for a ton. In 5 years you will wish you had Luck or Griffin.

1.03 3. Robbie Brooks Luck, Andrew IND QB ® Sun Apr 29 10:04:43 a.m. ET 2012 Probably too high but I look back at Manning, Moss and Edge. Peyton was maybe the best pick back than and Luck comparison is eerie. Why I need other things more, I still have 1.7 and 1.9 to add there.

1.04 4. "Real Sean" Thompson Floyd, Michael ARI WR ® WR poor

1.05 5. Tony Spera Griffin III, Robert WAS QB ® Sun Apr 29 10:19:40 a.m. ET 2012
So the guy at 2 had a shot at him and said he'd regret not taking griffin and then he got him anyway at 5? Ouch.
Even better that he took Blackmon at 1.02. Tony killed it.
The only thing crazier than all of that is Doug Martin NOT in the top 5.

1.08 - R. Hillman

Have you seen developmental drafts before? A lot of players don't pan out and before this year in 12 team leagues where only 12 dev players get picked, QBs don't really get picked in them. Barkley is going in some this year but I think that is because of the QB love fest going on right now.

All fbg.
How on earth do you take Mohammed Sanu at 1.8 (and ahead of Luck)?
Same guy traded the 1.2 for 1.8 and 2.2. I wish I knew that's all he wanted.

I love Pead and it might work out but that's a trade down spot if he liked Pead that much.

Interesting draft. I would have taken Martin at 1.01 and then whichever of the 2 QBs fell to me, but it doesnt really matter does it?

Good job passing on Floyd.
Many people have Wilson ahead of Floyd in their rankings, including this site's own Sigmund Bloom. (http://subscribers.footballguys.com/2012/12bloom100_postdraft.php). Floyd is the #2 WR on a team with a below average QB, and Wilson is an exciting prospect on a team who loves to run the ball, and he's only behind a player who has an injury history while sharing carries. It's not a stretch to think Wilson could be the feature back (60% or more of the carries) in NY by mid-season. That's just not going to happen with Floyd, his upside is limited, at least until the QB improves or Fitzgerald slows down. Please don't take this as a knock on Floyd, I'm just saying it's far from a clear cut distinction in rankings between the two of them.

'FBG' isn't some sort of stamp of approval necessarily.
Completely agree. It's odd because of league members not this deal...lol..but fun. Yeah I kinda notice that people have a "problem" when a guy goes a few spots ahead of where they think he should. Like Sanu @8, and Broyles @9 above. One thing I know for sure, is that come August these drafts won't look like they do now and it's certainly feasible that Martin won't be the best player out of Martin/Sanu/Fleener. He just didn't get enough value from that 1.2.

I would say giving up the 1.2 for 1.8 and 2.2 wasn't very smart. Then luck falls to him at 8, which would have completely flipped the trade because he would have gotten luck and picked up the 2.2 basically for free. Then he passes on luck and the trade flips back to being a bad one. Very peculiar.

The crazy thing is that he could have had Luck and Fleener (or if he was taken, Randle) for the 1.02, which would have been a good deal. I really like the Fleener pick but he screwed up with the Sanu pick.

People are making a mistake letting AJ Jenkins slip into the 3rd round and taking lesser receivers like Toon, Marvin Jones and Graham.

I would agree that Luck is the better pick there in a vacuum, but I can see passing on him too, especially if you are set at QB.

I have Rodgers in a 16 team league where top QBs can be very valuable, and I'm not sure I'd be able to pass on Luck just from a pure value standpoint. The topic deserves a spinoff thread IMO.

That draft is actually going fairly similar to a league I'm a silent partner in and most if not all the participants are high stakes fantasy players. In my draft Luck went 1.9 as well. I'd say the only people who went above him that might be considered surprising was Jeffrey and Wright. Most teams just don't have a big need at QB so I don't see him falling as shocking.

I can see the justification for letting him drop even further but not for Sanu.
