Question about sacks. (1 Viewer)

In the Panthers-Saints game, Will Smith was credited with a sack and then had it taken away. Cam Newton was hit (by Franklin) and fumbled at the 20, recovered at the 20 and then was sacked/tackled by Smith at the 20. Here is the description from NFL.com:

(14:07) (Shotgun) 1-C.Newton sacked at CAR 20 for -5 yards (99-A.Franklin). FUMBLES (99-A.Franklin), and recovers at CAR 20. 1-C.Newton to CAR 20 for no gain (91-W.Smith).
Since the play started at the 25, getting tackled at the 20 should've been a sack even though it was post fumble recovery, right? This would have won my game, so I am just hoping it will get changed on thursday. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks

Sorry, it's not going to change. Cam is considered a runner after recovering the fumble. Smith just gets a tackle on that play.
