Reuben Droughns, Jerome Harrison, Jason Wright (1 Viewer)

Any Cleveland homers or anyone else have an idea about whether Droughns will be healthy enough to take the majority of snaps Sunday against Pitt? If he's still hurt, will it be mostly Wright, mostly Harrison, a useless 50-50 split between the two, etc?

According to Rotoworld, there are conflicting reports as to whether or not Droughns practiced yesterday:

Conflicting reports on Droughns' Friday practice Reuben Droughns - RB - CLE - Nov. 18 - 10:35 am et While the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports Reuben Droughns (questionable, foot) likely missed all of practice Friday, the Akron Beacon-Journal reports Droughns returned to practice.Droughns did not appear during the media portion, according to the Plain Dealer, but the Beacon-Journal reports he was present despite not working with the first-team offense. It's rare that two local papers contradict themselves like this, but in the end Droughns remains a game-time decision. His matchup in the game is far from favorable. Nov. 18 - 10:35 am et Source: Akron Beacon-Journal
With the uncertainty of who'll be starting and who will get the snaps and the fact they are playing the Steelers D, I would hate to be counting on any Browns RB this weekend.

Thanks for the info. I definitely agree with you that it's a bad situation having to count on any Browns RB this weekend, but due to injuries, it's possible I may have to rely on one of these poor choices. As bad as the matchup is, a relatively healthy and starting Droughns could be my best case scenario.

In the previous game Droughns missed, week 3 vs BAL, Wright had 15 carries and Harrison 2. I don't think the CLE coaching staff views Harrison as more than a CoP back and pass catcher (at least for now).

I've seen a lot of references this week to Wright's 2.1 YPC for the season, but since almost all of his carries were against BAL, I'm willing to discount that some. PIT is also tough against the run, but if Droughns doesn't play and you are hurting at RB this week, I could see 50-60 yards and maybe even a cheap TD out of Wright since he'd be the GL back. I wouldn't count on Harrison for more than 4-5 carries and a couple of receptions.

It's an early game, and Droughns will be a gametime decision, so at least there's not the risk of being stuck not knowing until it's too late as sometimes happens in late games.

I actually picked up J Wight with just that projection in mind.... and he is riding the bench for me as my opponent has Droughns! I will not bench Dillon, Gore, Westbrook or A-Train for Wight. Pitt does not have the same caliber of Run Def as Balt, but they are still formidable. I would expect Clev to be playing catchup early and throwing more. Few carries for any Clev RB.

I think its RBBC if Droughns is out, Wright got the bulk of the carries last time, but it's a different OC now and Harrison showed alot in preseason.
