He is a player you like to have associated with your franchise, though. Pitched for the Sox for years. Took every role: starter, closer, middle relief, long relief, sometimes switching among them within the course of a week. Never complained. Always gave steady (if unspectacular) results. Spent the last 7 or so years on a year-to-year contract. Lots to like and nothing to not.

One of my favorite all-time players.
