timschochet's Fantasy Football League - Draft has begun (2 Viewers)

So I am on the clock for an hour. And will pick soon.

@dschuler owes two picks.
@Tat owes one pick.

I will be posting my yearly FBG "rate my team" after your last pick this round.

I'm going to use @Maurile Tremblay version this year, and not @David Dodds

TEAM 16 LARRYALLEN, RATED BY FOOTBALLGUYS.COM

Edit this team           Input another team with the same league settings

Your team is currently being rated by the projections of Maurile Tremblay           Switch to: David Dodds       Bob Henry       Jason Wood

QB: Andrew Luck, Joe Flacco
RB: Leonard Fournette, Latavius Murray, Samaje Perine, DOnta Foreman
WR: Dez Bryant, Larry Fitzgerald, Jordan Matthews, Jeremy Maclin, Cole Beasley, Laquon Treadwell, Tavon Austin
TE: Jordan Reed
PK: Cairo Santos
TD: Baltimore Ravens

Overview:

We'll start by complimenting you on your strength at quarterback and receiver. As you know, it's very difficult in a competitive league to assemble a team that is strong at QB, RB, and WR, so just about every team will have a weakness. As you probably suspect, we perceive yours to be at running back.

In 2017, that's not an instant fantasy team killer like it might have been five years ago. And in this particular case, we absolutely think you're strong enough elsewhere to overcome it. You've definitely got a good team here, but we'd feel better if we knew you were committed to keeping an eye out for the 2017 version of last season's David Johnson or 2014's C.J. Anderson or Jeremy Hill.

Players we particularly like on this team include Jordan Reed, Larry Fitzgerald, Jordan Matthews, Andrew Luck, Laquon Treadwell, Joe Flacco, Cole Beasley, and the Ravens defense. We have all these guys ranked ahead of where they are typically being drafted.

Bottom line:

With great inseason management, we think you have about a 65 percent chance of making the playoffs.

With good inseason management, we think you have about a 50 percent chance of making the playoffs.

With average inseason management, we think you have a 29 percent chance of making the playoffs.

My team...

QB: Jameis Winston, Deshaun Watson
RB: Jay Ajayi, LeGarrette Blount, Shane Vereen, Kareem Hunt, Damien Williams
WR: Amari Cooper, Michael Crabtree, Eric Decker, Nelson Agholor, Marquise Goodwin
TE: Kyle Rudolph, Cameron Brate
PK: Mason Crosby
TD: Carolina Panthers

Overview:

Your receivers are the strongest part of this team and you look good at tight end as well. It's rare for us to endorse a team with weaknesses at quarterback and running back, but we're doing it right here! You should have a contender here. But your margin for error in terms of inseason management could be a bit thinner than some of your competitors'. You must remain committed to finding 2017's emergent players at RB and QB.

Players we particularly like on this team include Jameis Winston, Kyle Rudolph, Michael Crabtree, Cameron Brate, and Mason Crosby. We have all these guys ranked ahead of where they are typically being drafted.

Bottom line:

With great inseason management, we think you have about a 65 percent chance of making the playoffs.

With good inseason management, we think you have about a 50 percent chance of making the playoffs.

With average inseason management, we think you have a 30 percent chance of making the playoffs.

Binky Team

QB: Kirk Cousins, Alex Smith
RB: Melvin Gordon, Darren Sproles, Jamaal Charles, James White, T.J. Yeldon
WR: Doug Baldwin, Golden Tate, Emmanuel Sanders, Willie Snead, Kenny Britt, Paul Richardson
TE: Martellus Bennett
PK: Justin Tucker
TD: Buffalo Bills

Overview:

Congratulations! You seem to have grabbed quality players at every turn of this draft. It's rare indeed to be better than the average team at the three core positions (quarterback, running back and receiver), but we think this team is.

You must be among the favorites in this league and have positioned yourself to grab one of the playoff spots. But before you start engraving the trophy, realize that the draft is not the end of the story. Things can and do go wrong, so you need to remain diligent throughout the year to ensure you remain strong until the playoffs.

Players we particularly like on this team include T.J. Yeldon, Alex Smith, Willie Snead, Emmanuel Sanders, Golden Tate, and Kenny Britt. We have all these guys ranked ahead of where they are typically being drafted.

Bottom line:

With great inseason management, we think you have about a 75 percent chance of making the playoffs.

With good inseason management, we think you have about a 65 percent chance of making the playoffs.

With average inseason management, we think you have a 49 percent chance of making the playoffs.

Jon Mx team

QB: Matthew Stafford, Brian Hoyer
RB: Carlos Hyde, Ameer Abdullah, Mike Gillislee, Rex Burkhead, Joe Williams
WR: A.J. Green, Keenan Allen, Marvin Jones, Josh Doctson, Marqise Lee, Malcolm Mitchell
TE: Rob Gronkowski
PK: Sebastian Janikowski
TD: Minnesota Vikings

Overview:

Your receivers are the strongest part of this team and you look good at tight end as well. While no team can be expected to be above average at all three core positions (QB/RB/WR), you are in the precarious position of being a bit weak at two of them.

Although you should not be counted out yet, you may need to be active on both the waiver wire and in trades to turn this team into a legitimate contender. The best way to achieve that might be to sacrifice some of your wide receiver strength to gain multiple players than can help your roster now. It's generally easier finding quarterbacks and wide receivers on the waiver wire than quality running backs.

Keep an eye out for quarterbacks like Dak Prescott from last year, Blake Bortles from 2015, and Ben Roethlisberger from 2014. All were available cheap in August, and all contributed to fantasy championship teams. Likewise, running backs like Rob Kelley and Mike Gillislee could be had dirt cheap at the draft or shortly after. You are likely going to need to land some of this year's top waiver plays, so pay close attention to increased workloads, targets, injuries, etc.

Players we particularly like on this team include Rex Burkhead, Marqise Lee, and the Vikings defense. We have all these guys ranked ahead of where they are typically being drafted.

Bottom line:

With great inseason management, we think you have about a 55 percent chance of making the playoffs.

With good inseason management, we think you have about a 40 percent chance of making the playoffs.

With average inseason management, we think you have a 19 percent chance of making the playoffs.

Damn--apparently Maurile doesn't put any emphasis on the TE position. Lol.  How can any system assess this fantasy football team and not mention Gronk anywhere in the analysis?  I'm actually scared to see what the system says about my team once my last pick is in. Lol

  they suggest I look for guys like Mike Gillislee when he is already on my team.  Not sure why Stafford is a weak QB.  Pre-season projections are a crap shoot.

The best one yet with no K or D

QB: Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, Sam Bradford
RB: Devonta Freeman, Isaiah Crowell, Terrance West, Doug Martin, Thomas Rawls, Dion Lewis, Alvin Kamara, Chris Ivory
WR: Pierre Garcon, Allen Hurns
TE: Travis Kelce, Jared Cook, Vernon Davis
PK:
TD:

Overview:

We think you're looking good at quarterback and running back, and tight end is a plus for this team as well. Your squad is therefore easy for us to like despite a bit of weakness at the receiver position. But as weaknesses go, this is one is survivable. It's usually relatively easy to find fill-in guys on a weekly basis until a better player emerges during the season. As long as you stay on top of things inseason, you should be the league favorite or very close to it.

Players we particularly like on this team include Travis Kelce, Terrance West, Isaiah Crowell, Jared Cook, Vernon Davis, Philip Rivers, Thomas Rawls, Dion Lewis, and Sam Bradford. We have all these guys ranked ahead of where they are typically being drafted.

Bottom line:

With great inseason management, we think you have about a 90 percent chance of making the playoffs.

With good inseason management, we think you have about a 85 percent chance of making the playoffs.

With average inseason management, we think you have a 76 percent chance of making the playoffs.

QB: Dak Prescott, Jay Cutler
RB: LeSean McCoy, Joe Mixon, C.J. Prosise

TE: Hunter Henry, Tyler Higbee
PK: Chris Boswell
TD: New England Patriots

Overview:

Your starting lineup is respectable, but the lack of depth is a serious problem. If you're lucky enough to avoid the injury bug, you might be OK. But that's a tough thing to have to count on.

To make this team into a serious contender, you are going to need to be extremely active in trades and on the waiver wire. You esentially need to turn over significant parts of this roster. Last year running backs like Rob Kelley and Mike Gillislee could be had dirt cheap at the draft. Additionally, wide receivers like Tyrell Williams and Jamison Crowder were available after a lot of the drafts. Quarterbacks like Dak Prescott last year, Blake Bortles in 2015, and Ben Roethlisberger in 2014 could be had cheap just after draft time. You are likely going to need to land many of this year's top waiver plays to make any significant noise, so pay close attention to increased workloads, targets, injuries, etc.Bottom line:

With great inseason management, we think you have about a 35 percent chance of making the playoffs.

With good inseason management, we think you have about a 20 percent chance of making the playoffs.

With average inseason management, we think you have a 5 percent chance of making the playoffs.

FWIW I drafted Deangelo Henderson not Carlos Henderson.  I'm sure that will give me a 100% chance to make the playoffs
