Surprisingly, this didn't happen in Florida.

My favorite part.

We watched the parrot carefully but it did not utter a word at the police station after being confronted by the complainant."
The police did not press charges against the parrot, but handed it over to the state's forestry department.

:lmao:

Having been an avid bird keeper for over 20 years, this is great! Would have been even funnier if the police charged and booked the beak. The guy already lives in a jail called a cage so what's another enclosure around him..

In college I knew a guy and his girlfriend from the judo club. They had an African gray parrot, a fairly big bird. He taught the bird to say "Leah's a #####". She taught it to say "Dave is an #######".

One night, late, I was walking home in my normal state of inebriation. Overhead, high up in an oak I hear a voice. The voice is saying "Dave is an #######". "Dave" happens to be my name.

It took me a few minutes to figure out what was going on. When I got home I called my buddy, sure enough they had lost the bird. they came bye to try to lure it down. A ruckus ensued as neighbors called the cops. (It should be noted we lived off-campus in a residential neighborhood and it was around 04:00 hours as they were trying to call down the bird.) When the cops arrived the bird completely clammed up. Those cops were never quite convinced we were not just three idiots shouting up into a tree. We were told to go home or be arrested. I left. Dave refused, he wanted his bird. He was arrested. Leah left, moments after I got home she was knocking at my front door. Apparently she and he had been fighting all night and she was looking for trouble. Had she been prettier I may have obliged her, hopefully I would have shown more character, but I may have.
