I signed up at Yahoo...

If possible can everyone just use their FBG name as their team name so I can keep track of all you ####ers?

Need to fund my paypal account, usually takes 2-4 business days, will send the money then.

"Dreaming of Denny McLain Inside"

Speaking of Denny, anyone ever notice that he looked like Peter Griffin of Family Guy?

MrPhoenix Chicos (in honor of the Cleveland Naps) are signed up.

In honor of WIS legend Chico Salmon.

Can I get in on this?

I'm showing that two league dues are paid via PayPal and I have two that are pending CC transactions on PayPal. I don't have a premium account to accept CC transactions, so I think we'll be hit with a 5% service fee if I accept.

Would bank account transactions be free?

Got it. Looks like that echeck will take a few business days to clear, but that'll work for sure.CC transaction DENIED.

I'm going to have trouble funding my PayPal account it appears, you'll have to bear with me.

All I have is a credit card because I just realized the checking account I had tethered to paypal I close. I need to re-verify my new checking account, then make a deposit, then do the transfer. It may take a week or so but I am still definitely in.

No problem. As long as we get everyone in by March 2nd, we'll be fine.

Trogg and Bud: I have a payment from one of you and an attempted CC payment from the other. I can't tell which is which from the email addresses.

I'm very interested in trading down to pick 4, 5, or 6.

Anyone interested. We can swap picks in 2 even rounds later in the draft perhaps. Open to any ideas really.

Oh and BTW - I tried to get into Yahoo's premium baseball using the log in and it blew up. You have to make sure your in the "regular" baseball site.

Took me three tries because I am not that smart, so I thought I would pass it along.

RNR>You doing NFBC again this year? Thought I saw your name in a mock in the forums over there.
I did a 12-team mock for their new "Online Championship" that will be featured in their magazine. I'm on the fence for the "Main Event" this year. I crashed and burned pretty bad last year. It's a pretty coin to be forking over these days.If I don't do the main event, I'll definitely jump in on their Online Championship. A pretty nice little structure for $350.

I'm thinking about doing the online version. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on strategy for that format and what you've seen in the couple or three years you've played in it.

Well, just speaking from the experience of their Main Event... -- Balance is everything. In single leagues, you can have some success with a gimmick team if managed correctly. When you are playing against ~400 people for the overall prize, you cannot afford to tank any category. It's too costly. -- Ratios (ERA, WHIP, and to a lesser extent BA) are the hardest categories to control over the course of a season. With weekly changes on a 15-team league starting 9 pitchers each week, you have to choose your pitching match-ups very carefully. Most of these guys really nurse their pitching ratios, so a few 2 IP (8 ER, 2.5 WHIP) blow-ups from your SP can really set you back.-- Most guys that you consider "sleepers" are not really sleepers in this league. If you have a guy at the top of your "value board", take him. There isn't much "sneaking my sleeper to the next round" going on there. For example, I've noticed a few guys talking about sneaking Matt Kemp or BJ Upton on this board. Upton is going early-mid 2nd and Kemp is going late 2nd-mid 3rd in most NFBC drafts I've seen.Honestly, the NFBC is a really fun experience. The live draft is really enjoyable, the competition is as good as you'll find, the grand prize is worth shooting for, and the anticipation of the event is a good way to pass the winter months. Sure, you have to work your way around plenty of  , but there are some pretty nice guys as well. My buddy and I usually partner up to go, it's a good way to split the costs and to have someone there to bounce ideas off. The more you have me talking about it, the more I feel like playing this year. ;)

someone let me know if an slot opens up, local folded and i'd like to get into a decent online league, bummed i missed this

Damn

No Bostonfred?

I for one am excited about this league. My other 2 leagues are keepers and it takes away from the excitement of the draft with most of the best players already being held onto.
