I really want to start a unique dynasty league? (1 Viewer)

One of my ideas was to do a 32 man league where you are linked to an NFL team for some of your players. I have had people say it was a good idea but they worried about the player pool.

So I had the idea of having a league where you drafted two nfl teams to start with. One AFC and One NFC if you had last pick in the AFC draft you would get first pick in the NFC draft. From these teams you would create your 20 man rosters. (Not Including Rookies)

Then based on ADP of your players they would be assigned salaries.

Player on your team with the best ADP would get a salary of.

ADP Rank On Your Team Salary

1 60

2 50

4 30

Total Cap $300

Now you can select up to 15 rookies off your two NFL teams. They will go on your taxi squad and salaries won't count against you unless you bring them up to your regular roster.

Their salaries against your cap will be based on what round they were drafted in the NFL draft if you choose to bring them up.

1st Round $15

2nd Round $10

3rd Round $5

4th or Later $1

Now once your rosters are complete you are free to make trades with other teams to get new players. You can also trade for Taxi Squad guys.

At the end of each season players contract salaries change based on their performance.

Top 5% of players at each positition would get a 20% raise not less than $5 and not more than $20

Top 6%-10% of players at each position would get a 18% raise not less than $5 and not more than $20

Top 11%-20% of players at each position would get a 15% raise not less than $5 and not more than $15

Top 21%-30% of players at each position would get a $8 or 12% raise not less than $4 and not more than $15

Top 31%-40% of players at each position would get a $6 or 9% raise not less than $3 and not more than $10

Top 41%-50% of players at each position would get a $4 or 6% raise not less than $2 and not more than $10

Top 51%-60% of players at each position would get a $2 or 3% raise not less than $1 and not more than $5

Top 61%-70% of players at each position would have their salary stay the same

Top 71%-80% of players at each position would get a 20% paycut not less than $2 and not more than $10

Top 81%-90% of players at each position would get a 30% paycut not less than $4 and not more than $15

Top 91%-100% of players at each position would get a 50% paycut not less than $8 and not more than $20

No salary can go under $1

At the end of the season I will adjust all the salaries of the players you will then have 1 month to get under the $300 salary cap. You can do this by trading or by releasing playerys. Then after that one month we will have a free agent auction where non rookies can be bid on by every team. If the player you are bidding on is on one of your 2 nfl teams that you own then you will get a 5% discount on all bids. That means if you won a bid on a player for $100 and he was on one of your 2 nfl teams I would adjust his salary back down to $95 to show your %5 discount.

When the NFL draft comes around any time one of your NFL teams drafts an offensve players he will automaticaly be put on your taxi squad as long as you have room on your 15 man taxi squad. If you don't have room I will contact you and you can either bring up a player to the real squad or release a different Taxi Squad player.

What makes this league truly unique is that you will always be tied to your two NFL teams. It will make watching the NFL draft that much more exciting, hoping that your teams draft some offensive studs.

How will draft order be determined
There is a site where you can enter in names and hit randomize. It will randomize the names from 1 to 16 that will be the AFC order and the NFC order will be the opposite.I will be talking to someone from the league on the phone and while I do it. And taping it on my phone at the same time. Then i will upload the video to youtube so eveyone can see that the process was not rigged.I will make sure the person I am talking to on the phone is someone that I do not know personally. Thanks for asking,Joe

Any reason these players would exceed the $300 cap? And how do you obtain FA during the season? Do you have to save money in your $300 cap?

One more question.........

You dont draft rookies? They are just on your TS team based on the two NFL teams you own? So for example if I owned Cincy and Miami this year. I would have my players -----------and then on my TS I automatically get AJ Green and Daniel Thomas? And what do they cost? So I know if I can bring them up later in the season.

You get whatever players your team drafts and they don't count against you unless you bring them up.

Their salaries against your cap will be based on what round they were drafted in the NFL draft if you choose to bring them up.

1st Round $15

2nd Round $10

3rd Round $5

4th or Later $1

All players will get assigned a salary based on their ADP. Your player with the top ADP $60. And it continues to go down all the way down to $1. It will add up to 300.

During the year you can pick up free agents with a blind bidding process. If you are the winning bidder then you make cuts to clear the space for that player.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Are you using one specific site for ADP listings? Cause what if I think Cribbs is my #1 and you think he is my #2?

My answers are in bold below his questions

I might be interested in your 16 team league - couple of general questions - if all the rules aren't squrared away yet that is fine was just thinking about a fiew...

1. Is this league and the 32 man league two separate leagues? Are they both a go?

No 32 team league just this one2. How many starting at each position? I'm a fan of more the better. Says 9 on the site but I can't figure out the requirements - 2 qb would be real challenge

1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB, WR, TE) 1 K, 1 Def. Team3. Do rookies on the taxi squad get the salary bumps or are they exempt?

They do get the bump but it still does not count against you until you bring them up4. I like the discount on the free agent if it is your own team - but maybe it should be even higher? You wouldn't even get a discount on a player until $20 - maybe it could be a dollar amount then a percent like the raises or just a higher % like 30%?

I would be open to voting on this once we get all 16 guys I am not dead set on 5%.5. How long can players stay on your taxi? - Could some like James Jones for instance still be on my taxi squad at $5 from his original draft if I wanted?

I say they can be there as long as you want, but you only get 15 spots and once you bring them up once they can not go back down.a. Could undrafted FA signings get put onto your taxi squad too if it is your team?

No. They can be bid on in the free agent auctions and you will get your discount on them Is the weekly matchups head to head or some type of victory points? VP might go further to making it skill based

Head to Head, But I would be open to a double header format where you played one person and then played the league avg. for the week. That means you could go 2-0, 0-2, or 1-1 for the week. 7. Looks like Blind bids for FA's - Is blind bids equal to regular salary cap dollars?

Yes

a. How much do you get to spend for the year?

Equal to salary cap dollars

8. Can you trade FA bid dollars?

No 9. Can you trade excess salary cap dollars - for instance if I want to give another team $15 of my salary cap can I trade it to that team and I will be at 285 for the rest of the year and other team will be at 315?

No 10. Can you trade a teams future picks - for instance if my team was the Clev packers like your example - could I trade 2012 Cleveland first round pick ahead of time and that player would then be eligible for new teams practice squad?

Excellent idea and yes I will make that happen. Now you are taking a chance if you trade for a Green Bay 1st round pick and they do not take an offensive skill position you are out of luck. It will be hard to determine their value. But awesome watching the NFL draft.11. Do you have to stay under the cap all year long? Or is there an in season cap that is higher to allow teams to make a playoff push and take on salary, etc. I would think it might be hard to trade if you always have to stay under the salary cap. Maybe make one point in time - some time in the preseason where you have to be under the cap - then you can move from there?

You bring up a good point. I think when I assign salaries at the begininig it will only come out to 260 giving you $40 dollars of wiggle room for during the season and to pay for salary bumps. But you can not go over the 20 players.12. Scoring I don't care much but would prefer PPR - or even better scaled PPR with 0.5 for rb, 1 for wr, and 1.5 for TE 

All scoring rules will be voted on by the 16 ownerssorry ended up being a few more than i thought originally - I am just already in quite a few leagues and want to be picky about what i join at this point. it needs to be good and unique - and it sounds like this could be. Thanks in advance for your answers...

Great Questions I am going to post it to the league message board
