Now that the NFL draft is complete and we have had a few days to let things sink in, lets find out what the SP thinks of the rookies and where they stack up against each other for fantasy.

I decided to expand to four different polls post NFL draft, as now we can consider how each player fits with their teams and what that may mean in terms of fantasy points.

I am populating the poll from my own rankings, with the exception of the 2QB poll where I will slot the top 3 QB choices at all times. If a player is not listed that you think should be, please recommend that they be added to the appropriate poll. If you would vote for a player who is not listed please vote other and post who you voted for, and that player will be added to the next poll.

Discussion welcome. Thanks everyone for voting.

I'm not voting for him but I'd expect others to vote for Joe Williams in all formats.  :hawkscreech:

Feels like there are seven choices in non ppr - engram or njoku, zay or juju,  or foreman,  mack or Jamaal Williams.  I'm not saying those are equal in my opinion,  but there are owners who really like one of those seven and don't want to miss out.  I think engram is probably the best player available, njoku has higher upside and immediate opportunity but he's more raw and won't have a qb. Juju is a better player than zay, but zay should produce immediately.  Foreman should be a decent non ppr player but I don't see a big ceiling right away between his flaws and Lamar Miller taking a lot of the good touches.   If i thought for sure Williams would start he'd be the choice but that's a big gamble with a first round rookie pick on a guy who might never play.  Same with mack who will probably be stuck behind gore this year and should see more competition in next year's draft.

For me the pick is engram.  I don't need to make a hero play,  just get the best player available.  Once he's off the board they're all different kinds of gambles.  I think the other chalk pick would be Foreman,  I'm just not a fan.

We have a tie between Kareem Hunt and Samajae Perine in the TE premium poll at 58 votes.

Hunt won in the standard poll over Perine. Hunt and Kamara before Perine in the oher 3 polls so far.

They're pretty similar @Biabreakable. Engram is a better receiver.  Njoku is a better athlete, so the upside is through the roof,  but he's in Cleveland and he's raw so he may never emerge. Meanwhile engram went to a team with a clear number one receiver, a good young complementary receiver,  and an aging qb and wr2, so he may never get that true Gronk/Graham upside.  You're basically looking at one guy and saying how risky is he,  and the other guy and saying how much upside does he really have,  and your answer to those questions (and whether you even think they're issues) probably decides which one you prefer.

Perine is kind of like engram in that respect. He's a good talent, likely to start, probably not going to get a lot of receptions but he should be a starting fantasy back and could be a pretty good one.  Hunt has that kc running back upside - but he also might never become the "starter".

Oddly enough I'd take engram and hunt.  To me i see lots of tight ends with high upside every year but not many who I'm confident will be high end tight ends with upside to be the best, so he's a guy i just plain want to own.

Meanwhile I've always said that the upside of a running back who can run inside,  outside, catch,  and score touchdowns is higher than a more "talented" player because the elite fantasy backs need to get enough touches (so they have to be able to run inside) but also get the best touches (receptions are worth twice as many points as rushes in non ppr and four times as many in ppr, and touchdowns are obviously huge).   And running back is a position where you can cobble together production until your stud pans out, and a stud is so valuable they can single handedly carry a mediocre team like Tomlinson used to.  So while I do like perine a lot, I take hunt over him all day.

Well its enough votes to move on to the next poll but there are still ties.

Perkins could be very good this year, the Giants did sign Rhett Ellison who should help with blocking, and also part of the reason they do not need Engram to block. Perkins upside could be limited if Shane Vereen plays a lot. Which was basically what I was saying last year, assuming Jennings were gone this year (which he is). If Vereen can't stay healthy or they just don't play him much, then Perkins could be very busy. Perkins doing well in pass protection will help him play more snaps.

Perine can catch the ball. He might surprise you in that area. He just wasn't used as much as a receiver because they were having Mixon do that (and having Perine block).

Washington has a pretty good offensive line. Likely top 10 in the league. Good landing spot for a RB. Perine should do well there.

Why do you always bring up Perkins?!?

Fwiw, Perkins actually isn't my ideal guy for the inside/outside/catch/score model exactly because the giants like to use situational guys.  I think he's capable of running on the goal line and getting receptions but I'm not sure they'll let him.

Three rookies i liked most because they checked those boxes and were undervalued with a chance to get the job right away were Freeman and Dixon, and now Hunt because he's almost always available at 1.8 or later.
