Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Poison Set 2020 Stadium Tour (1 Viewer)

Surprised to see the Crue back at it, considering they talked constantly about how they'd never tour again.  Like non-stop about how binding the "no more touring" contract was.

I love DL.  Saw them about a decade ago and they were awesome.  I think it was them, Styx and Foreigner.  I heard Joe Elliot talking and he said it's crazy to think that DL is at the peak of their popularity right now.

I have to admit that this does how the makings of an entertaining show.
It will be entertaining and fun.   Crue is not good live though since Vince cannot sing a lick but there are a lot of well known songs from all three bands to make for an enjoyable event.    RnR doesn't die.   It gets old, fat, and bald like the rest of us but isn't going away quietly.

“Legally, we can’t play again,” bassist Nikki Sixx claimed to Rolling Stone backstage at a 2014 show in Denver. “The only loophole is if all four band members agreed to do it..."

Man I find it really hard to believe DL is more popular now than their early 90s Hysteria run.

Is "Stadium" the name of a new chain of casinos?
I was laughing at this until I realized the Modest Mouse was playing the Pechanga theatre in downtown San Diego.

They're playing a casino an hour and a half away from the casino, and I should know because I can walk to the original casino.

Dang. That's a lot of casinos.

Having been a DL fan and having seen them many times over the past 35+ years, I can say that at this point they are statues and dinosaurs that play the same songs the same way with very little energy. They don't seem to be all that interested and it's clear they are in it for the paycheck. My wife loves them and we go every time they come around and they LITERALLY have played the same exact set list every time. For people that haven't seen them before, they might be ok, but for folks that have seen them over the years, be prepared to be disappointed. To me, they seem like they are just going through the motions these days.

I also have seen Poison multiple time over the years, the last time opening for DL. The show was a Tesla - Poison - DL trifecta and DL was clearly the weakest link of the three acts. It was the first Poison gig in like 6 years and they were fantastic. Bret was a madman running all over the stage, really putting a lot of emotion and effort behind the performance, and he truly looked like he would have played for free because he just missed performing. After Poison finished up, Michaels stuck around while they set up for DL, hanging out with fans, high fiving well wishers, signing autographs, taking selfies, etc. with his feet hanging off the end of the stage. It was a total love fest. When DL started their set, security had to come pull Bret off from the stage. He definitely was way more into it than Def Leppard was.

Who knows if that's the current state of affairs for those two bands, but that's how I saw things two and a half years ago.

The funny thing is, in that interview, right after that quote, he says something like "But it'll never happen because I'd never tour with these guys again.  And by saying this in the interview, if we ever did start touring again, we'd look terrible for going back on our word."

This is the kind of tour I'd love to see at a smaller venue somewhere, paying smaller venue prices.  I don't love any of these bands enough to pay what it would cost to see them in an actual arena.

I've seen DL twice, once at the MN State Fair, and once at a minor league stadium.  I'm not sure how a band that doesn't put out additional popular music goes from arenas, to state fairs, back to arenas.  Regardless, seen them twice, more than enough for me.

By pairing with two of the other biggest bands of the genre.

I probably wouldn't have purchased tickets anyway (not for $175-$300 a ticket with fees included) . . . but hats off to Live Nation for sending me an email to announce that tickets were going on sale AFTER the tickets were no longer available.

US Bank Stadium is notoriously awful for sound and the CHEAPEST tickets are about $150/each.

I'd say definite pass, but my daughter really wants to go....

Oh sure, I say to the wifey, I’ll gladly pay $170 + whatever the convenience fee is per ticket to watch a bunch of geezers ruin songs I like.  When is it?  Oh, even better, 430 in the afternoon on July 9th in Orlando!!  I would love to sweat my balls off to this....

NO!  I’m not going to this just like I’m not going to the Jimmy Buffett concert.  I like good music
