I've been looking into this question some recently and don't have what I'd call an "answer." As indicated above, the tradeoff is between production and variance, but the question is how to weight these two things, and how to measure them.
In the case of the kicker numbers above, the sample...
My personal feeling about the Falcons is that they're a run defense away from being a top team, just like they were last season. But I don't want to hijack. If Blank is given the choice between axing Vick, who fills seats, and axing Mora as a scapegoat, I know who'll go.
I might add Joe Gibbs and Bill Parcells to the list. I doubt either of them would actually be fired, but I can easily see either or both of them hanging it up after this season unless they make a deep run in the playoffs.
Mangini is freakin' brilliant. Given what he has to work with, and just...
One thing to add that may or may not help, but Herm's teams with the Jets were abysmally slow starters. Guys like Santana Moss and Curtis Martin would look like absolute dogs for most of the first half of the season, and then explode in the second half.
No guarantees that this will materialize...

The interesting thing in this thread to me is the claim that Peyton was overvalued at ADP 10. I have him in one league and took him at 8. I looked at him and the next 5 guys to be drafted (all RB's), through week 6:
Jackson, Steven StL/7
Johnson, Rudi Cin/5
Williams, Cadillac TB/4
Portis...
Maybe. If Gore were my RB2 and I had nothing behind him, I would've seriously considered Dunn for Gore, perhaps with a little sweetener at another position; Dunn offers more security than Gore, IMHO.In the league where I have Gore, however, I'd never consider that trade. I also have Foster...
I saw parts of it, but I'd try not to read too much into one game. Yes, it appeared that Henry was the RZ guy--today. But the Titans have all but declared this a rebuilding year, and you never know what they're going to do next week. Sorry, Titans fans, but today the stuff Fisher was doing with...
Oh, awright, since you want to be serious about it:(1) Booth officials should be able to override poor calls on the field at all times--even "judgment calls" that can't be challenged under the current rules.(2) Officials should be allowed to make a "no-call" on a play, explictly asking for the...
:goodposting: Still, when you play so-so against a potential Superbowl team and still get the win, that does say something about your team. Run defense is going to be a real concern for them, though.
