Well…for a “books only” thread, lots of show talk
SPOILER: For me, I am just moving along with the show assuming the events are what is happening in one of the infinite Portal Stone worlds. You’ll understand after book 2.
Marino never got to face the 85 Bears in the SB because he lost to Tony Eason and a paper Patriots team. At home. What more do you need to know? He was Phillip Rivers before Phillip Rivers.
I had a subscription a long time ago. I find that i mostly play in leagues with a format: 16 teams, 35-43 man rosters, extensive IDP, contracts for players, annual RFA auctions, weekly FA bidding, sometimes a Franchise Tag, an annual contract cap, a 10-13 player DTS squad, and an 8 round rookie...
Brady taking over and the team starting to win was the catalyst that helped Belichick’s system take root.
This debate is a problem because both men helped each other evolve into the great contributer they are now. In NE we loved both early on and people have been debating if one or the other...
Sure, one handed catches...of course. Did I imply somewhere that what I posted should be the entirety of the catch rule?
My point is merely that if a receiver has a ball firmly between his mits, is in bounds and breaks the plane, the play should be done at that point, just like any othe TD...
How about two hands on the ball in the end zone. Once that happens it’s a TD. Anything after that is moot, just like a runner can’t fumble after breaking the plane.
One thing we know is that rules are not applied evenly in the NFL. I don’t see a 4 game suspension, a first round draft pick loss, or even an investigation into historic trends here...
Contract style dynasty leagues with a 'monetary' bid system for acquiring players avoid most of this problem. You just need committed owners who are willing to take a few seasons to fix a team after they have made some bad moves.
What I liked about Dobson's performance this week is that he caught 7 of 8 targets. Brady is not quick to trust and shies away from guys that do not catch a high percentage. I thought this week was a good step in Dobson becoming a dynasty buy.
