2025 Year-end Song Draft - We've Started, join in and pick a song or twenty four

Final playlist update done. I didn't add anything that didn't have a round number. We finished up with 301 songs. :towelwave:

2025 Year-end Song Draft - We've Started, join in and pick a song or twenty four

I'm glad everybody here still makes an effort to discover new music, whatever their process. I've spent most of my life chasing the little buzz that comes with hearing something special for the first time. I still enjoy that when it happens whatever Spotify thinks my listening age is.

I never listen to Release Radar or any of those daily mix things.

2025 Year-end Song Draft - We've Started, join in and pick a song or twenty four

The FJM album came out in late 2024. I guess time makes fools of us all

2025 Year-end Song Draft - We've Started, join in and pick a song or twenty four

Some people in the audience acted like they were at a show and applauded at the end of songs (I didn't because the band couldn't hear us). There was one woman(?) behind us with a weird munchkin/troll voice who sang along to "In Between Days". Fortunately she didn't seem to know the words to...

2025 Year-end Song Draft - We've Started, join in and pick a song or twenty four

The Cure movie was pretty good. They're not a particularly dynamic live act and their stage show is modest by modern standards but the film was visually interesting without the over-editing which often ruins full length concert movies. They started with their most recent album front to back...

2025 Year-end Song Draft - We've Started, join in and pick a song or twenty four

Playlist is updated. I'll do one more sweep over the weekend to add any stragglers. We're currently at 292 songs which is 12 more than last year's year-ender and 89 more than 2023. I don't think I've inadvertently added any more albums. :oldunsure:

The FBG Top 300 Books of All Time (fiction edition) | #2 The Stand by Stephen King | #1 The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien ... it's a wrap

I hear you. I'm reading Herman Wouk's The Winds of War, a book I read long ago when I was 19 or 20. Wouk's prose reads really well but the book is 890 some odd pages long. I read less these days because I don't fly or commute like I used to and there are more screens to distract me now. I...

The middle-aged dummies are forming a band called "Blanket"! It's a cover band.

This thread reappearing on page 1 gives me an opportunity to right a wrong from krista's original project. For some reason, I went with a one song per artist rule for either coverer or coveree. My only Springsteen entry was The Band's excellent cover of "Atlantic City" at #5 which left no room...
