Jackie Battle was not very good at running, and was a terrible lead blocking back. Oh yeah and he is 32, Greene sucks and is overpaid. Pretty sure a multi-purpose FB who can run and catch and block was a big need.

Bell is just cheap depth, no more. He is not a real strong RT, but his play at LT is what got him run out of Carolina. No one can be worse than Oher was last year, and we paid him a ton. If Bell doesn't upgrade the depth you just cut him after camp. And Barksdale was asking for huge money.
