With all the new coaches being talked about, what about minority hirin

Is being used really better then not being interviewed at all?

So Zorn gets fired yesterday and per the following from ESPN, "Talks between the two sides went well enough Monday night that Shanahan summoned his agent, Sandy Montag, to Washington on Tuesday morning to negotiate a deal with the Redskins http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4795477...

Didn't Zorn just get fired yesterday and Shanny is already working on the contract. When did this Gray interview happen?

I Have Officially Seen It All

You obviously didn't watch the wrap up ESPN. Young, Bruschi, and Millen all pointed out how bad it was for BB to pull Brady in that situation as there was still a slight chance and coming back and winning the game. I think they count as "on TV" and "media".

I agree with this. While you could explain it all, I would still get a lot more out of speaking to someone who successfully did the job or at the very least, didn't fail miserably at it. You fit that bill. While you never actually performed the job, you haven't failed miserably at it. I'd...

Well based on what you are saying, why do we need commentary anyway. Hell...I got a guitar when I was six and played it right out of the box Christmas night 1969. Early the next day I played it until my fingers bled (learned the solos) and years later attended a couple AC/DC concerts. I guess...

I don't beleive anyone in this thread has said they do or don't know more about football then Matt Millen. The point I was making in this thread is that Matt Millen has no credibility at this point. Sure he may no more about football then any human being on the face of this earth; however, his...

So if a player continually puts himself out of position during actual games (college or pro), being able to identify this error (or unable as the case with Millen) has no relevance in judging or predicting how that player will play going forward? So the fact that Peyton Manning throws 25 TD's a...

I never said Millen knows NOTHING. He may very well know how to peal an orange in an efficient and effective manner. I just state he has no credibility. Similar to when Sean Penn goes off on a rant about how government should or should not be run. Neither has any credibility on the subject...

Well lets use your chop stick example. Lets say there 20 people that have to play music using only chop sticks. From the 20 people, four “experts” have to select five to play a concert at Madison Square Garden using real instruments. Obviously the chop sticks are the “minor” league compared...

Like I've mentioned in one post, failing is one thing. Millen took failing to a whole new low. That is the difference between Millen and anyone you mentioned above. On a side note, isn't Casserley the GM who picked Mario Williams over Reggie Bush? If so, I'd actually appreciate his insight...

The problem here is that I don't believe Millen when he attempts to point out these more complex and hidden things happening that the casual fan would miss. The reason why I can't believe him when he goes this route is the fact that, if he were so good at discovering and identifying these more...

Yes, people did like him as a commentator before and I can't blame them for their interest in what he had to say. At that time, you didn't know what you know now. Now the cat is out of the bag and it is obvious he has no ability to judge talent as it relates to what is happening on the field...
