Drafted last night. 8 team with each allowed to keep up to 3 keepers for up to 2 years, with kept round moving up 2 each year kept. In my case I drafted Chris Johnson in 2008 in 16th (last) round, so this year is my least year keeping him and he is a 12th round pick. Start 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1...
You guys are giving me some interesting ideas to mull over. I am in a keeper league weighted heavily toward touchdowns and have kept C.Johnson for a 12th round pick. We just reorganized and the league is 8 teams. I have the 4th pick and was planning on take A.Johnson first. However, my final...
Some nice points, including those by butcherboy, fightinillini, and schu. In particular I think the point that with larger leagues shifting a bit more toward depth and away (ever so slightly) from studs makes sense. A few things I'd chime in with:
1. In my experience with auctions, I'd...
We have done it several ways in our 10 years.
- Ideal is having a dedicated auctioneer who is not playing--we did that twice.
- Lacking that, when I was commissioner for about 5 seasons we didn't have a dedicated person and I as commissioner did it. Good part is same person = fairly...
We had a 9-man auction league a few years ago, and used the 10th team as "Joe Average". Joe Average is not eligible for playoffs, but did manage to win the league. Several grumbled and wanted to go with "Joe Median" (issue is if you have 1 or 2 teams really light it up every week and the rest...
Yes, as I said I've read Drinen's article and it is not the one I'm looking for.The article I'm looking for is focused on finding young receivers who are poised to breakout, not necessarily 3rd year receivers though. I used it last year to pick up Kevin Curtis in many of my drafts, but have...
I'm not sure it was DDs article...I can google and get his article, but it is simply a study of if the 3rd year WR breakouts are true. The one I'm thinking of actually helps sort through to narrow down who among those WRs might be a breakout.
Not sure where I found it (if I knew I'd not be asking), may have been on this site or may have been another, I think it is 2+ years old. Here was the base theory:
- Looks at 4 categories (labled B, B, C, and D), but essentially was # of catches last season and # of yards for players in 1st...
Never chalk up a win before the games are done no matter how hapless your opponents situation seems.A few years ago (the year Denver last won the SB) one guy loaded up with Denver players. Of course, he had tremendous bye week issues, and only had 1 scrub QB, 1 scrub RB, and 1 WR to start on an...
:rotflmao: Come to think of it, I didn't get Shaun Alexander's daughters birth measurements, and I did pay $20...
What some people think $20 will buy you these days...
2 catches for 56 yards...sounds like about 28 yards per catch to me.28 yards per catch does NOT sound pedestrian to me. ;) Realizing that it was only 1 game, the kid had 3 long catches. He is supposed to be the up-and-comer of the team, and their existing receivers are not getting younger...
No, he went with the little used but universally feared stud defense draft theory and took defenses with 2 of his first 3 picks...hence no debate on who to start there.
