I went into education so I've been teaching at a private school and at local colleges for 25 years. Now I am an administrator at my school. I did actuarial work for 6 months and was bored out of my skull. I mostly learned Game Theory on my own, as my masters focused on mathematical analysis, not more modern stuff. But it is easy to learn (and fun to teach). The Rooney's sent their kids to the school where I used to teach in Pittsburgh so I had access to them and felt OK sending an email to offer my services. The Rooneys are many positive things but cutting edge isn't one of them. I'm sure they tossed my info in the bin just like the hundreds of other crack messages they get daily. But it makes it frustrating to watch them again and again make very sub-optimal decisions. Maddening, really.
