I fell for this one as a treadmill watch and agree it could have been tighter. A bigger issue for me was that I really hated the lead character (Cordelia Cupp), and I also hated the “congressional hearing” conceit. It was clever and watchable enough, though.
I don’t think they ignore it - they literally talk about the gender treatments (such as discussing that he doesn’t “have stubble yet”), and the townspeople tell the couple they’ll be accepted there despite the alternative family dynamic, but I agree that it is all really confusing. Seeing that...
Doooooon’t. I was fooled enough by Toni Collette and by the first two episodes being decent that I stuck it out to the end despite starting to think it was bad in episode three. Plot twist: it gets worse. Way worse. Laughably bad. Some of the worst TV writing I’ve seen in ages.
Yes, loved this movie, and no, you won't drag me into this thread again. I'm sure you had plenty of negative reactions to this from people who've never seen it.

Stranger Things
Six Feet Under
Lost
I'm also open to write-in votes.

Oh man. Yeah. I messaged to KP when this began that I wasn't sure how long I could last in this thread. KP and 80s put so much work into them, and I feel like most people want to come in and **** all over it. Whether for shtick, which is some, or for genuine lack of knowledge of movies, it's...
Spotlight was really interesting. Don't know if it would make my list overall, but certainly very good.
I can't believe Y Tu Mama Tambien was in the 2000s. It started my lifelong, though apparently not so lifelong, love of Gael Garcia Bernal. It seems like that has gone on longer. Oh, and I...
