Also this whole plan of asking me to call them only makes any sense at all if they are ALWAYS available, which of course describes nobody.
Because if they dont answer when I call, now they have to call me back.

I scrolled down and read the email she was replying to and the 4th line was...
"Annual forecasted volume is 8000...
Blah blah blah.
If you guys were honest it would be the other way around. Advertised and posted prices would all be credit. Then cash discount from there.

Places go to this style of pricing so they can display and advertise lower prices. Baggage fees, seat reservation fees, platform fees, handling fees, all of it. It is all just businesses being sneaky.
We all know this. No reason to dance around...
You are being sneaky. A calculation has been made that many people will not notice it or notice it after their decision has been made. If you were being transparent you would have it the other way around. You are being as shady as the people that added resort fees for stuff you already were...
Came here to post something very similar. When people unambiguously are at a stop sign before you, but then take forever or even wave you on, suck.
Also when people stop for you as a pedestrian when they clearly did not need to at all. Like buddy i am not even close to the intersection...
I can walk into any fast food place at 7:30. Eat my sandwich/burrito/whatever and gtfo by 8pm. If they don't want people coming in at 7:30, they should post that.

I see stories all the time where people bring up scenarios like this. I just read a thread in my subdivisions local facebook group where people showed up to a local bar and grill that closes at 9 at 8:20. Told right away half the menu was off limits and that they would be kicked out at 5 minutes...
I made a warranty claim of a product and unchecked every box regarding receiving marketing.
Be shocked everybody, I still got marketing email coming in daily now that i have to waste effort to get eliminated...again.
