I also dropped Gostkowski for him this week. After 3 mediocre weeks from Tynes and Gos, I don't see much risk here. Vandy's poor preseason and injuries scared off other coaches, but he's a proven vet in a good situation.
Since the Titans resigned Henry, I don't think they take a RB in the early rounds. But if Brown doesn't stay healthy this year, look for them to make a move next year.
There are two good reasons for the Texans to announce this now. One is to make sure Bush knows he will be the #1 pick to ensure he declares his intention to turn pro (although I think his mind was already made up). And by announcing now, they hope to put an end to most of the talk on Houston...
Not only were Stewart and Garner in the same Tennessee backfield for 2 years, but Aaron Hayden (Chargers) was there at the same time. And Travis Stephens backed up Lewis and Henry for a few years. Stephens was 1st team All-American the year after Henry left, but has been a reserve in the NFL.
I will bet my next paycheck that Young doesn't last past the 3rd draft pick, and I'll wager every paycheck until draft day that Vince won't around at the 10th pick.Yes, the Rose Bowl was just one game. And I would still take Bush with the #1 pick if I were Houston. But the pressure on the Texans...
I definitely think Caddy will be an elite back for years to come. I watched him play several times in college, and the more I saw, the more impressed I was. Some RBs just see the field and the holes better than others, and Caddy always seemed to get that extra yard or two. While he's not...
I had my doubts about Young as an effective NFL QB prior to this season, but by midseason of 2005 I realized he really had improved as a passer. And I really liked him as a leader and a playmaker. I was hoping the Longhorns would win last night because I thought it would increase the chances...
If Alexander is back with Seattle next year, he would be #1 on my board. LJ is very tempting if Holmes retires, but he has not proven he can carry the load for a full season. Sharing the job with Holmes kept him fresher for the stretch run. But unlike SA, he has not had to be the man game after...
Personally I care very little about the Heisman. I'm a big college football fan, but the Heisman has become the most overhyped award in sports. And the voters don't seem to agree on the criteria that should be considered (and highlight reels are all many voters ever see). That being said, I do...
Count me as one of the those who thinks SA is very underappreciated. As others have pointed out, he has produced at every level. Sure he has a good OL, but you don't produce the kind of stats SA does year after year without great talent.I play in a league that allows us to draft developmental...
I was never impressed with Benson before this season, but he has improved. I've watched him several times and he's a better back than he showed today. I think he'll be a very good, but not great, RB. My guess is he'll be closer to a Travis Henry than another Edge.
