  1. Hey Ivan, if the site works in incognito mode but not in regular mode, your browser most likely has a forums error screen stuck in its browser cache. If you're not sure where that menu option is, this site will give you precise instructions on how to clear the cache on your browser: https://clear-my-cache.com/
  2. Yeah, these emails are becoming pretty regular scams. There are literally billions of accounts out there that have been compromised by intrusions at various huge sites over the past few years. The scammers can buy huge files (one of them has nearly 2.7 billion email/passwords) full of this info and send one of those clumsy-looking form letters to everyone in the file at practically zero marginal cost. If anyone pays them, it's free money. If someone does get one of these emails with a valid password, it means they've been the victim of one of those intrusions and they should change that
  3. Searching is coming back around now. Invision did a minor upgrade to the latest version and we kicked off a rebuild of the search index afterward. The rebuild is about 55% complete now and it should be finished by end-of-day tomorrow. For reference, I was getting 2 results returned on a board-wide search for "tony gonzalez" before the upgrade. I'm getting 67 results on the same search now. More than likely, the template change in the updated version clobbered the preview text on the "Next Topic" link -- I've requested that it be added back.
  4. Thanks, @DA RAIDERS, @mr furley , and @cosjobs -- my best guess so far is that the forums fire off some sort of javascript to clear out the saved contents of your editor after the reply is posted, and because of the size of this thread, that script is either timing out or not getting fired. I know that the rich text editor that Invision uses saves its contents to your browser's local storage to reduce the chance of you losing a long post by accident. But it is supposed to clear the editor out once the server confirms to the client that you've successfully replied. I'll check with In
  5. Does the quoted post appear whenever you reply to this thread, or whenever you reply to any thread anywhere on the forums?
  6. @Osaurus, the "Back To Top" link you were looking for has also been restored at the bottom of each page. Fifty topics/posts on a page can make for a pretty long page.
  7. Couple of tweaks to the default forum theme have been implemented based on feedback in this thread: Text color in posts and forum index pages has been made darker for better contrast. "Back to top" link is back at the bottom of each page. 50 threads/posts make for pretty long pages, so I can see the need.
  8. Hey @Dedfin -- can you point me to some Invision boards where "ignore" extends even to quoted text? I'd like to see how they do it so I'll know better how to ask for it.
  9. The temporary Trump thread has now been merged into this one, because continuity.
  10. OK, the Trump Years thread is back. It was sent to the archive on Sunday morning for some reason that isn't completely clear at this point. What I do know is that late on Saturday evening, one of our moderators deleted seven posts from the thread. This event appears in the moderation logs. However, there was no indication in the mod logs or admin logs that anyone archived the thread. Invision has confirmed that the "last post date" on the thread was somehow set to 0, which caused the archiving to commence. My working theory is that the seven posts deleted by the moderator were t
  11. WHERE DID THIS THREAD GO!?!one!1!! Hi y'all -- sorry for the trouble. I've been researching how to make our forums faster and more responsive over the last month. The performance of our forums, though never particularly speedy, had become uniformly slow with occasional unpredictable and excruciating delays. So I asked the folks at Invision Power, the forum software's authors, to dig in and make some recommendations on how we can speed the site up. They recommended a number of infrastructure and settings changes which we've implemented in this upgrade. More performance upgrades will be coming w
